This one-shot was for lalala. I had a bit of trouble with it, but i think it turned out okay. Hope you like it. Love you penguins! ~Blackbird
Ross and Riker had been sent out by Stormie to pick up some groceries. They were at the check-out when the guy at the register in front of them pulled out a gun. The guy looked rather bedraggled, and unclean. Like he was homeless, or at the least very poor.
"Give me all the money, and nobody gets hurt." he yelled. Everyone gasped. Ross turned pale and grabbed Riker's arm. The robber waited for a minute. Everyone stood frozen, afraid to move. "Come on, the money or..." he looked around, and grabbed a little kid. "the kid gets it."
"No!" Ross said, moving away from Riker. "Take me instead." The robber pushed the kid away and grabbed Ross. He winced as the man's nail dug into his skin. He pointed the gun at Ross' head. He turned to the cashier. "The money." The girl unfroze, and started filling the bag with money. Riker looked around trying to find some way to get Ross without anyone getting hurt.
"Look," he said, after not finding anything. Maybe he could reason with this guy. "You don't need to hurt anyone. Just let him go."
"You don't know anything blondie." the guy said, but Riker saw a hint off fear, and regret in his eyes.
"Don't do something your going to regret." Riker said, taking a step forward.
"Stay back." the guy said, pointing the gun at Riker now, letting Ross go. Ross' eyes filled with terror. The gun was starting to shake in the man's hand.
"Please," Riker pleaded, "just put the gun down. I'll give you some money. No one needs to get hurt." The gun clattered out, and Riker felt like a wait had lifted off his chest.
"You'll just give me money?" the guy said looking shocked.
"Yeah," Riker said. He pulled out his wallet and grabbed a hundred dollar bill out of it. He didn't normally have such big bills, but he had been planning to go to the mall later. The man looked at Riker like he was crazy, when he tried to hand him the bill. Ross looked at Riker, love shining in his eyes.
"Take it." Riker said. The man took the bill almost in awe of what Riker was doing.
"Thank-you." he said, then ran off. Ross walked over to Riker.
"You are amazing." he said, kissing his boyfriend's cheek.
"No big deal." Riker said.
"And to think this was all because we needed groceries." Ross said. The two chuckled, and kissed. Then they paid for their groceries, and went home to tell their family about their adventure.
