The Beautiful Ugly Truth
Disclaimer: I don't own any person or part of Rosario+Vampire. This was written for entertainment purposes only.
I don't belong here anymore.
It was a sad and sobering thought that struck me as I looked out my bedroom window.
The sun shone brightly and the laughter of little children echoed through the air. Overall, it seemed like an idyllic day; a day that seemed picture perfect and carefree.
All I could think of was that it was too bright and too bland.
I understand now what Moka-san meant about the dorm building having character.
Sure, it was dark and gloomy, as well as quite dangerous, but at least it was truthful. Looking at it, you could see both its faults and its strengths, and that made it beautiful.
Everything in the human world had this happy veneer over it, making it seem like every building told a lie. Each and every one held a secret that was hidden beneath a smile, and that made them seem all the more dangerous for their deception.
All the unwary people were only potential victims for this world to eat with the fangs it hid behind its grin.
No.
I didn't belong here anymore, I thought with a smile; but, neither did I want to.
I don't want the lies anymore.
I want to see the truth, no matter how ugly or frightening it may be.
AN: This is a one-shot. I have no intentions on making this into a story. Still, I would be very grateful if you left a review. : - D
