Hi again! This was just a thought that came to my mind as I was working the other day. For some reason I've been getting all these scenarios in head and I can't shake them. Is this how it is for others who write fics themselves? Not that I'm complaining, I'm just simply asking. This is Post One year time skip so, Enjoy~!
...
A short boy with dark ravened hair, a slanted frown and rosy cheeks walked through the door of the Lamia Scale guild hall, spotting a particular pair with a blue cat, the boy walked up to Natsu and Lucy. Thier puzzled expression being his reward when he looked up and called out "Wanna meet my momma and papa?!" Wendy, quick to react, took her place before Lucy to bend down and eye the little boy. "ah, sure." She answered. "I'm just glad you're not alone."
The little boy shifted his gaze onto Wendy, giving her a toothy grin as he spoke once again, "My momma and papa are not far behind, They'll be here soon!" He explained, a bit too eager. "My momma has pretty blue hair like you," He pointed at Wendy, "But hers is much prettier." Wendy laughed nervously.
The sudden appearance of the nameless boy was out of nowhere, and just who were his parents? He sure seemed to like them a lot. They must be great parents then. Lyon walked up to the child, placing his hand on the boy's shoulder as he crouched down to level him eye to eye, "Just where are your parents? You shouldn't running from them if you don't want to lose them." He told him. The boy bowed his head in a bit of shame, had he really been running from them? No, he loved his momma and papa, he would never run away from them. How could he when they've been nothing but nice to him ever since he met them.
The boy frowned, "I ain't running from them. I just got excited." Lyon chuckled lightly. "Then where are they?" He asked as the boy hung his head in shame. Before the boy could answer, the doors of the guild hall burst open revealing a young man, He also had dark spiky hair. His skin tone was slightly darker than the boy's pale skin, he looked as if he'd just ran a marathon. Panting as he slowed to a stop before the boy, his body hunched over slightly as he held his knees and his bangs fell over, covering his face.
"Sh- Shiro! What the hell, kid? Don't... run away like that." The young man panted as he tried to catch his breath. "PAPA!" The boy exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around the man's neck, which he patted the boy's back in return. Just then a woman ran through the doors of the guild hall, looked around before she spotted Shiro and the man before Lyon.
"Shiro-Chan! Don't you ever run away like that again!" She exclaimed as she received the boy in her arms. Light blue hair, pale skin and a long sleeved blue dress to match her hair.
The young man finally stood up with a regained composure to find Lyon standing before him, "Lyon?!"
"Gray?!" Lyon exclaimed.
"You're a dad?!" Natsu bellowed, "Since When?!"
"Flame Brain?! Lucy?! Wendy?!" Gray blinked a few times as if his eyesight needed re-adjusting.
"Aye! And Happy too!" Happy lifted his paw up into the air, which everyone ignored. "and don't forget Carla" He added.
"Juvia..!" Lyon once again responded with surprise as he took Juvia being motherly to the small boy.
"Juvia?!" the rest of them called out in surprise.
"ah… Hello everyone." Juvia laughed nervously.
"Since when do you guys have a kid?!" Natsu blurted out, that was everyone's question.
"ah.. no..Juvia and Gray-Sama are not Shiro-Chan's parents." She explained, the child now cuddled up to her with smile on his face.
"Then why does he call you guys 'Momma and Papa'?" Happy asked with a fish shoved into his mouth.
"It's a long story." Gray answered, leaving the mages to have endless scenarios run through their minds.
…
Over lunch Gray and Juvia, along with Shiro, filled everyone in on the story among finding the had found the small boy wandering around aimlessly, he had just lost his birth parents to one of Zeref's demons a couple months before, while Fairy Tail's battle with Tartaros, though they found him a couple months after the battle ended.
After after a day of training Gray and Juvia went out for dinner, on Gray's request. He wanted to thank Juvia for everything she had done for him and continued to do for him back in their small cabin. Throwing on something nice, Juvia then followed Gray out onto the carriage he rented for them to ride in.
After dinner, Juvia spotted a small boy crying mercilessly in the snow, he called out for his parents but no one came to tend the boy. Her heart sank at the sight of the small child helpless and weak, she could just leave him alone. It wasn't right.
"Gray-Sama, look that child is crying." her voice was sympathetic.
"Yeah, and? Let his mom and dad come get him." Gray responded.
"It doesn't look like he has any, Gray-Sama." She frowned. "Please can we help him? Juvia can't bare the thought of leaving a child behind when she knows she can help him."
"Juvia, we can't just go around helping any stray kid we find on the streets" Gray finally turned his gaze to the blunette, his words causing her frown to deepen.
"Gray-Sama, It's just this one time. If something happens to that child, Juvia is holding Gray-Sama responsible. He needs us." She pleaded, her eyes now fixed on his before they turned back to the boy.
"fine." he groaned, finally after a few seconds of silence. "but if this is a trick, you're the one responsible." His stern tone faded when Juvia's cold eyes reached back to his and he cleared his throat. "I mean, sure. let's go help the midget." he muttered.
"Oh Gray-Sama!" Juvia clung onto his arms as she pulled him to greet the child in need.
If it wasn't for the tiny similarities Shiro had with both Gray and Juvia, (raven colored spiky hair, big blue eyes and pale skin) people would have never believed he was Gray and Juvia's son. The boy sat between them, dangling his legs that hung off the bench placed at the table.
"Well I must say, he does resemble the both of you quite a bit." Chelia chimed in after the situation was explained to them. Lyon, Chelia, Lucy, Happy, Wendy, Carla, Yuka, Tobby and Natsu surrounded the couple with the child between them.
"So how old are you, little cutie?" Lucy asked the boy to which he held up a tiny hand with four small fingers extended out whilst his thumb folded towards his palm.
"Six months ago when Juvia saw him out in the snow, She couldn't just leave him. She had to help him." Juvia's lips curled up into a smile as she caressed the boy's semi- long locks. "he's always been well behaved." she added.
"Until he ran earlier." Gray muttered, he glanced down at the boy who only sank himself further into Juvia's side but Gray patted his head softly.
"a-are you mad, Papa?" Shiro looked up at the man sitting beside him, his eyes glistening as he feared for the worst, though Gray shook his head.
"huh. So you two adopted him?" Yuka couldn't help but ask.
"I guess in a way, that makes sense." Gray shrugged his shoulders crossed his arms over his chest as the boy leaned over to wrap his small arms around Gray's waist as much as he could, gripping onto his jacket; which he still had on surprisingly.
Shiro receives a gentle pat from Juvia, who picks up the spoon from the table to stir the boy's soup. "Now, finish your meal, Shiro-Chan. Gray-Sama and Juvia still have to take you to get some new clothes." She reminded him gently.
Lucy smiled, It warmed her heart to see how Gray finally opened up to Juvia. They were sort of a little family. She never imagined they're return with a child, so it made her curious how they worked it all out. "Juvia, Gray. Are you guys going to the children shop in Crocus?" Lucy asked.
"Why yes, Lucy-San. Why?" Juvia replied, She lifted her head to give Lucy a gentle smile.
"I was wondering if..I could come with you? If that's okay. I don't mean to intrude or anything. If you'd rather spend your time alone with your family, that's okay. I was just curious." Lucy rambled, she laughed nervously but stopped to look up at a smiling Juvia with her eyes lit up in a beam of glee.
"Of course you can come, Lucy-San!" Juvia happily implied. "It's been a long time since Juvia had some girl time. Wendy and Chelia can come along as well!"
"Juvia-San, Are you sure we're not intruding? I wouldn't want us to ruin your bonding time with Shiro-San." Wendy held up her hands to wave them before herself as she laughed lightly.
"No, Wendy-San. Juvia would love for you girls come. Shiro-Chan can get to know you girls better." Juvia clapped her hands together as a form of trying to contain her excitement.
"Papa, are you coming too? I don't want to be alone with all girls." Shiro tugged on Gray's jacket, his head tilted back as his gaze focused on Gray. Gray shook his head, he let his gaze fall to the small boy beside him.
"No, buddy. Juvia needs to catch up with Lucy and Wendy. I guess Chelia too. I'd take you later but Juvia won't like what you and I pick out." He chuckled lightly, his eyes fell closed though his hand fell onto the boy's head.
"I want to go with papa." Shiro grumbled, his small arms crossing across his chest just as Gray was before. Juvia looked down at Shiro, her lips curved up as she leant down to press her kiss to her baby's cheek.
"Gray-Sama, Please come with Juvia and Shiro-Chan. He was really looking forward to go with you." Juvia pleaded, she leaned up with give Gray an innocently pleading expression. Gray groaned as he looked over at Juvia then down to Shiro. He twisted his face in disapproval but gave in once Juvia placed her hand on his shoulder.
"ugh. Fine. I will." Gray groaned once again. Shiro's face lit up, his eyes beamed with the same glee that mirrored Juvia's earlier. He wrapped his arms around his papa who groaned once again. Gray exhaled out a puff as he shook his head once more. "Finish your soup, kid." he muttered down to the small boy hugging him. Gray couldn't help but let out a chuckle at both Juvia and Shiro's excitement.
Surely Juvia invited Natsu, Lyon and the others, though Lyon and the rest of the Lamia Scale members declined. All except Wendy, though she just was a bit hesitant at first, she didn't want to leave her new friends behind, even though they encouraged her to tag along.
"Looks like you're doing quite well, Gray." Lyon spoke from across the table. "I must admit, I never imagined you'd come back with a child but he looks like a good boy."
"Shut up. He is." Gray muttered as closed his eyes in slight embarrassment. Shiro was once again swinging his tiny legs from the bench, happily taking in the soup that Juvia cooled off with Gray's help. Back at their cabin, Shiro had his own room with a small bed and certain toys they've bought him, the closet was now full of clothes because Juvia always like to get him new clothes, ignoring Gray's protest of him already having enough. Like always, Gray couldn't win and he would end up following after Juvia anyway, while the small boy clung to him instead of her.
Once Shiro was finished with his soup, he pushed the bowl forward and bowed to the waitress whom Lyon had called over. "Thank you, lady." Shiro mumbled shyly, he hid in Juvia's side, no one was better than his new momma, so naturally he didn't want the woman to praise him.
"Let's go then." Gray spoke up "Thanks for everything." he directed to Lyon. Lyon's lips formed a smile as he stood along with Gray and the others to walk them out the door. "It was nice seeing you, Gray." he told him to which Gray responded with "Yeah. you too."
Their goodbyes were said and I'll be back laters were thrown out, mostly from Wendy and Carla. The old team, along with Shiro went out towards Crocus to get the little boy his new clothes.
...
I really plan for this to be an multi-chapter fic. For some reason, I just thought this up and now I'm in love with it. I was suppose to post this up on Saturday but I went to a concert in Pomona, so I didn't get to have the chance to finish it nor post it. I hope you liked this and I'll get started on the next chapter right away. Thanks!
