I wish you still loved me, a naruto fanfic

AN: A small thing I just thought up.

Summery: Naruto dies at the Valley of the End; only he has enough in him to tell Sasuke something, something that will change Kohona history.

Naruto charged up the Rasengan while in his kyuubi-fied form, and charged at Sasuke, who was also powering up his strongest attack, the Choridi. Sasuke flew towards Naruto, his large hand-like wings spread behind him.

Naruto shifted his attack at the last moment, hoping Sasuke would take the hint and do the same. He didn't. Sasuke plunged his arm into Naruto's left lung, completely obliterating it.

Naruto's form sank to the ground, pulling Sasuke along. "S-Sasuke, I-I gotta tell you something…" Naruto rasped to his best friend. Sasuke simply stared at him, not even attempting to pull his arm out of Naruto's slowly dieing body.

The boy cleared his throat, choking on some of the blood spilling into his remaining lung as Kyuubi struggled to fix his wound. Naruto began in a soft voice, his singing slowly floating throughout the area, so far that Kakashi could hear the softness. "Naruto…"

"Sasuke…

Naruto's last note faded and he drew his final breath, "love you, Teme." With that Naruto Uzumaki, Kohona's most surprising ninja told the last Uchiha of Kohona he loved him and then died.

Sasuke never paused to wipe away the tears from his eyes. He bent his head down and kissed Naruto softly on the lips. "I love you too."

Kakashi soon arrived to the scene and released a wail that was heard world round, a wail that was recorded in the Shinobi Realm history books for generations to come. Sasuke removed his hand from Naruto's dead body and picked the corpse up bride style. He followed Kakashi back to the village, staring at his love's soft and peaceful face. "Your goal is now mine; your strength from times past will push me on."

Time Skip!

Sasuke sat in his new office, the Hokage's office and stared at his village, remembering the boy who changed his life, and whose live and death created a better future.
