Shards of Glass
I've never been able to really start my stories with the flair that I have read in so many books. The one I just can't stop reading… that send chills down my spine since page one. Books that make me cry and feel as though I am really there. No that has never happened to me because for one reason or another, I get caught up in some stupid, boring beginning such as Once upon a time there was a raging storm and it was dark.
Isn't that just dull? I mean come one, there has to be a more original way to start a story. If you don't like the beginning you might not even read the book.
But to be honest, there was a storm that made the sky as black as Harry Potter's hair. And the only light was from the occasional lightning that streaked across the sky threateningly. There was rain and lots of it. It was streaming down side ways so any umbrella really only got in the way. And the story begins ever so nicely with poor Hermione Granger out in the middle of the whole storm. And why, you ask?
Well, please read on...
