The Lilac
Have you seen the lilac in the forest?
Have you seen a mother cry?
Have you seen the little light of good,
In which we all unite?
Or have you been so busy,
mourning at their tears,
that you can feel and see nothing but pain and fear?
You say you want to make the world a better place,
one that is excepting,
yet you are clearly too busy,
grieving at the distress that is projecting.
How must we bring more good in the people,
when all we see is evil?
How must we bring hope and love,
when we ourselves have none?
Although the world is full of sorrow,
like a dark, foggy woodland,
you must find the lilac,
that's hidden within in its sand.
And with that flower,
we must give it to the mother,
whose cries are like a hurricane.
And only with the giving of that flower,
can the world feel loved and safe.
Hope y'all enjoyed! I really had no idea where I was going with this poem, and I kinda just went with the flow. I've never really written much poetry before, so I hope it's not horrible XD. Anyways, I would love if you left a review on how you felt about it, if you liked it or didn't like it, and what improvements I could make. Thank you! :)
Also, this poem is about how people tend to think the world is hopeless in changing. They're so overwhelmed by the " foggy forest"(the world and society) that they don't see the little "lilac" or "light of good"(the little love and good in the world),. The "crying mother", is all the problems with the world, and who just needs a little lilac flower.
