It was recently brought to my attention that I haven't posted any of my FMA fanfics on here yet… so here is the first of a potential many!

He has always reminded her of winter. Especially at times like this one.

The moon was shining through their bedroom, illuminating her husband's skin with a delicate silver glow.

His hair was disheveled from sleep, and the wispy tendrils fanned over the pillow like bare tree branches scratching at the sky.

Riza reached out a hand to gently touch Roy's cheek, for a moment not quite convinced she was completely awake.

Obsidian eyes cracked open. "You're still awake?"

She nodded, "Yeah."

Roy gave her a sleepy smile, "How's my wife doing?"

"I'm fine," Riza laughed, "My wife? You act like we're newlyweds."

Roy gave her that charming grin of his, "We are newlyweds. When we celebrate our thirtieth anniversary I may consider reconsidering my view on this."

"Thirtieth?"

He thought for a minute. "Yeah I think that's a little unreasonable."

"You think?"

He nodded slowly, "Yes. Forty is a much better number."

Riza chuckled. "You are impossible."

Roy pressed a gentle kiss to her lips, "I am no such thing."

She just rolled her eyes.

"Momma? Daddy?"

The two glanced up to find their four year old standing in the doorway.

"What is it, Connal?"

"I wanna sleep in here tonight." His little face was determined.

Roy glanced over at their son, "Well what are you waiting for?"

Connal grinned and let out a whoop as he clambered over his father so he could snuggle in between his parents.

"Nighty night Mommy." He gave Riza a hug. "Nighty night Daddy." He did the same to Roy then squirmed his way under the comforter.

The couple watched in amusement as their son fell asleep within seconds.

Riza glanced over at Roy, who had the most peaceful smile on his face.

He gathered his wife in his arms, careful not to crush Connal, content to just hold them.

Roy had always reminded her of winter, but at times like this with his simmering passion and over protectiveness, he reminded her more of summer.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

There you are! The end :] Just a short little drabble I wrote a little while ago…. There are millions more where this baby came from. R&R as always.
