Chapter 1

April had moved to Boston during the summer and now she and her sister Kelli were ready to go to their new school..

Kelli goes to the info desk but April just asked some stranger if he can help her.

'Excuse me can you help me please?' she asks politely.

'Sure! What are you looking for exactly?' he answers kindly.

'I have to be in the library.' April explains

'Sure, follow me. And by the way I'm Daniel and by sounds of it I can tell that you're new here'

'I'm April and thanks for helping me.'

'Here it is, the library. Is there anything else I can do?' he asks with a smile.

'If you don't mind, can you show me around later on? I can definitely use a guide.' she answers with a smile.

'Sure no problem! Let's meet here at the library at lunchtime. Is that OK?'

'No problem, now I know where it is!'

'see you then, bye!' he says and going away.

'Bye! And thanks again for helping me!' she shouts after him.

Happy as she is, April goes into the library.

'Hello is there anyone here?' she shouts gently.

'Oh I am sorry I didn't hear you come in. I'm John, how may I help you?' an nice gentleman answers out of the blue.

'I have a letter that says that I had to come here.' April begins her explanation. 'and you're supposed to be my class teacher.'

'What year are you in?'

'year eleven.'she aswers in a whisper.

'And what is your major subject?' he asks to be sure.

'Economics! And why all these questions? She asks with a wondering look.

'I just have to know if your on this list or not.' he answers quickly while he's looking through some papers.

'In case you were wondering my name is Geller. April Geller'

'Oh yes, here you are! You're on the list miss Geller.' he says with a happy face.

'Can you please help me? I don't know where I have my first class.'

'Let's see, your first lesson is math so you have to go to the second floor and there it's the fourth door on your left.'

'Thanks mister John, she you later!' she yells leaving in a hurry.

'Bye' he answers in a low voice.

12:35 at the library

'Hey Daniel. How did class go?'

'OK, but there was a girl that was really late but I didn't get a chance to see her.' Daniel answers.

'Are you in year eleven?' April asks Daniel suddenly

'Yeah why?' he answers

'Well, I think I was the girl that was late this morning.'

'Are you serious?' he asks with a surprised look on his face.

'Yeah and did you know that John the librarian is our class teacher?'

'OK, now you're joking!'

'No I'm telling the truth.' she says with a straight face.

'Come on! I'll introduce you to my friends if you want!' Daniel says suddenly.

'That would be nice! I'm right behind you.' she says with a bit of a smile.

This said they go the the cafeteria to join Daniel's friends for lunch.

'Hey everyone this is April. She's new here.' Daniel says to his friends 'April these are Michelle, Sam and Louise.' he explains pointing to the right person.

'Hey everyone' she says a bit nervous.

'So where are you from?' Sam asks her at once.

'We moved here from Kansas. My mum got promoted so we all came along!' April explains herself.

'Is there anything you'd like to know besides school stuff?' Louise asks out of curiosity.

'Now that you mention it, do you know if there are any good clubs in town?' April asks very friendly

'Sure there are! Even 2 or 3 I think!' Sam answers quickly.

'Hey maybe I could ask my brother, he knows all the good clubs. If you want I'll introduce you to him sometime.' Michelle suggests to April.

'That would be nice Louise. Thanks!' April says nicely while she gets up to leave.

'Where are you going?' Daniel asks her.

'I'm going to the library to thank mister John again for helping me. Wanna come?' April asks Daniel.

'No thanks, but I'll wait for you here when the signal goes.'

'Oh OK, thanks Daniel, bye'

April hurries to the library so she's sure that she's back in time to go with Daniel to class. In the library she looks for John.

'hello! Mister John are you here?' April yells in the echoing library.

'Oh, hello miss Geller, what brings you back here?' John suddenly says from behind her.

'Hey mister John. I just want to talk to you, if you don't mind.'

'No I don't mind otherwise I am alone. And besides I like the company.' he answers shortly.

'OK I will start by telling what happened this morning.' April answers happy.

'So, what happened?' John asks her in a curious tone.

'Well, before I came here this morning I asked some guys the way here.' she begins her story 'And you know what he did? He personally brought me here. Is he a gentleman or what?'

'So, did you find your way to class OK?' John suddenly asks April.

'Sure but I was late and so embarrassed.'

John wasn't listening hard which April noticed...

'OK, what's wrong?'

'Nothing is wrong, why do you ask?'

'You were not listening very well when I was telling my story!' she said a bit annoyed.

'I am so sorry but I was just thinking about a friend who had an accident.' he answers explaining.

'Oh my god, I'm sorry is your friend OK?'

'She's fine but badly hurt.'

'I have to go now! I just heard the bell!' April quickly says.

'OK I'm sure we will talk some more later!'

'Bye Mister John.' she says and quickly goes out the door

'Bye Miss Geller!' John says quietly.

April returns to the others and they go to class. Class has just begun and April starts to write a note and hands it down for everyone to write something...

Hi Daniel, I'm so bored do you by any chance know a good joke or someting? Btw, who's the teacher, I don't even know his name!

Who? Him? That's mister Masters. We call him spock. And I agree this is boring. I'm sorry but I don't really know a good joke!

This is history, so why do you call him spock? Star Trek doesn't have anything to do with it does it?

No it doesn't but we call him that because he kind of looks like mister spock.

Schools out and April wants to give Daniel something.

'Hey Daniel wait up!' April yells walking towards him.

'What's up? I have to get home!' Daniel asks a bit annoyed.

'Here take this!' April says giving him a paper. 'I wrote down my address and phone number in case you ever want to talk!'

'Thanks, I appreciate this.' Daniel answers taking the paper.

'Any time.'

It's 18:10 and April arrives home...

'Dinner is ready can you call your sister please.' her mum asks her.

'Kelli, dinner is ready!' April yells from the kitchen.

'You don't have to yell, I do have ears you know.' Kelli says coming from the living room.

They're in the kitchen and Kelli starts to talk about school up until dessert.

'May I go to my room please?' April asks her dad suddenly interupting Kelli.

'Sure if don't want dessert.' her mom answers.

'I'll have it later!' she says getting up to go upstairs 'just put it in the fridge or something..'

Up in her room she begins to write in her diary.

Dear Diary,

it was great at school today. I met some nice people.

We have some classes together but not all.

First i couldn't find the library, so I asked some guy where it was.

He brought me there and we made plans to meet up at lunchtime.

'April you have a visitor!' her mum suddenly calls from downstairs

'I'm coming.' she answers putting her pen down and closing her book.

She hurries downstairs curious to see who would come to visit her this late!

'Daniel! what are you doing here?' she asks stunned

'You said, if you ever need someone to talk to!' he answers showing her the paper she gave him.

'Oh, I almost forgot I gave it to you!' she says looking tat the paper laughing.

'Sorry to bother you at this hour but I really need someone to talk to.' Daniel apologizes

'At this hour! It's not even nine yet! Let's go to my room'

'I didn't have much time before to talk so that's why I'm actually here.' Daniel confesses following April upstairs.

'What do you want to talk about?' April asks daniel 'And please do sit down.'

'I Love someone but I don't have the nerve to tell her' he begins.

'So, you don't want Michelle to know you Love her than?'

'How did you know?' Daniel asks looking stunned

'I noticed the way you looked at her when you were introducing me earlier.'

'Anyways I love her, for 4 years now, but I'm afraid that she'll laugh when I tell her'

'You know Daniel, I'm sure she won't laugh at you!' April explains.

'How can you be so sure of that?'

'I've had the same problem. I once fell for this guy and I was really scared to tell him.' she begins telling her story. 'And after a few weeks I finally told him and he didn't laugh at me!'

'Sure but what did happen?' Daniel ask curiously.

'His girlfriend attacked me!' she answers smiling.

'Oh this isn't good! I can't tell Michelle how I feel!' Daniel says with a lot of panic!

'Why not? The only thing that can happen is that she doesn't feel anything for you!'

'OK if you're sure'

'I'm sure! It's late and dark so I think you better stay here.' April says, suddenly noticing the time (10:10 pm)

'I was going to ask if I could.' Daniel answers quickly.

'I think you can stay in the guest room.'

'Thanks April, you are a true friend!'

'It's nothing. I like to help people. Do you you need some stuff or are you call your parents to let them bring some things over?'

'My parents aren't home so that's why I want to stay here.'

'Oh, OK!'

They talk some more during the evening and by the end they really know each other. When she showed Daniel where the guest room is she writes the end in her diary.

I can't believe Daniel is here. We had a really interesting talk.

So now he's going to tell Michelle how he feels about her.

Personally I think it's cute because he seems to really Lover her by the looks he gave me when he was talked about her.

I'm tired and I think I need get some sleep!

Next morning 7:00 AM

'April breakfast!' her dad yells from the kitchen.

'I'm coming dad! She answers with a sleepy voice, 'You don't have to yell!'

Downstairs...a couple of minutes later

'Hey Daniel did you sleep OK?' April asks walking into the kitchen.

'I didn't sleep much!' he answers yawning...

'How come?' she is curious to know.

'I couldn't stop thinking about Michelle and what I'm going to say to her today.'

'But you have to do it! Otherwise you will never know how she feels about you!'

'Yeah you're probably right! I will talk to her when we get to school.'

When they have finished breakfast they leave for school. April's mum drops them off at school on her way to work.

'Hey Michelle is crying!' Daniel says

'I wonder why!' April whispers to Daniel.

'What's wrong?' Daniel asks Michelle.

'My parents told me yesterday that they are getting divorced.' Michelle sobs.

'I am so sorry for you. Are you alright?' April asks her

'It's just a shock to hear that, after 2 years of fighting they finally have come to a decision!'

'So what now?' Daniel asks her

'I will probably have to choose which parent I am going to live with and why.' Michelle says still in tears.

'Is there anything we can do to help?' Sam asks suddenly.

'No, I have to deal with this on my own I guess.'

'Can I talk to you Michelle?' Daniel whispers in her ear.

'Sure.' she says and they go a bit further so no one can hear them.

'Firstly I want you to know that I'm really sorry about your parents. And secondly I have a confession to make.'

'What's wrong? Nothing bad I hope!' Michelle says with a bit of a laugh.

'OK here goes nothing! I Love you!' Daniel says very nervous.

'What? Are you serious?'

'I'm deadly serious.'

'How long? And why are you telling me this now?' Michelle really wants to know.

'4 years and I just thought that I would be a good thing to tell you!'

'I'm a bit surprised!'

'Oh that's a good thing right?' Daniel mumbles with a smile.

'Sure it is because I'm finally getting some good news.'

'So what now? Can we still be friends?'

'of course we can still be friends! But there is something you should know as well!'

'That's a relief! Wait, what? You have something to tell me to?'

'I think I Love you to!' Michelle begins her explanation. 'I really had no idea that you're feelings were so strong!'

'Wait, so you have known all along? Why didn't you say anything?' Daniel interrupts her.

'I just recently found out, but I didn't know what to do so I just kept quiet in staid.'

'You could've said something! Before I made a fool out of myself a couple of minutes ago!' Daniel whispers a bit mad.

'but it's OK! I also like you, so you're not a fool!' she answers with a smile.

In the meantime April goes to the library.

'Mister John are you here?' she yells while slowly going inside.

'Yes I'm up here Miss Geller, what's the matter?' he answers back from up a ladder at the bookshelves.

'Nothing, I was just wondering if you have this book for me?' she says quietly.

'If you say what it's about, I'm sure my assistant will help you.' John says, without showing interest.

'It's about witchcraft and spells. And I didn't know you had an assistant!' she answers surprised.

'I just got one today, apparently the school has some extra cash to spare.' John explains.

'Here you go miss, I think this would be a perfect book for you.' says the unknown assistant suddenly from beside her.

'Thanks.' taking the book and looking closely to who he might be. 'Oh my god! James what are you doing here?' she suddenly yells exited.

'I am helping John as you see.' he answers her yell.

'How did you know where to find me? And is Wesley with you?' she asks curiously.

'You left a note at our house remember, and yeah Wesley is here to.' he says laughing.

'Oh yeah I totally forgot about that note!' she answers calmed down.

'Wesley is with the principal.' John suddenly say from up the ladder.

'What!? Why?' April yells.

'He flunked his last year and he wants to repeat it. I think he is registering as we speak.' James explains her

'What? you can't be serious!' April yells looking confused.

'No I'm just playing with you. He's looking for a job and he heard the principal could maybe help him.' James explains laughing.

'Oh this is so cool! But what if mum sees you?' April ask looking very serious.

'Euhm I don't know what then. Let's just not think about that yet OK.' James answers also looking seriously.

'John what's wrong?' April asks him.

'Nothing! Why do you always ask that?' John answers frustrated.

'You look like you are wondering something. Plus you're not saying much.' April answers laughing slightly.

'Why can't your mum see James or Wesley?'

'They are friends from Kansas and I'm not suppose to speak to them ever again.'

'Oh and where does that involve your mother?'

'She can't stand either one of them.' she explains to John.

'Oh I understand. She thinks that James and Wesley are bad for you.' he says trying to understand.

'You can put it like that.' James answers to John.

The bell rings...

'I have to go to class now. I will come back later to talk more. Say hello to Wesley for me.' April yells while quickly running out the door.

'We will do that see you later.' John and Wesley say together.

'Bye.' she yells a last time.

The morning goes by very quickly and during lunch April runs through the hallway when Louise stops her...

'Hey April do you have a sec?' Louise yells to her.

'Sure Louise what's up?'

'This is my brother Rob.' she explains, pointing to he cut guy next to her.'Rob this is April.' she says turning towards him

'Nice to meet you Rob. But I have to go now' April says tying to explain.

'Should I go in case you get lost?' Rob ask April.

'If you want, sure. I would love the company.' she says trying to get away. 'Bye Louise and thanks again.'

'Any time April! talk to you later.' Louise says seeing Rob and April go out of side.

On the way to the library.

'Rob I hardly know you and yet you're coming with me. Why is that?' April ask curiously.

'I just did asked so it would get Louise of my back.' he answers with a laugh.

'Oh I understand!' she says laughing. 'And, I already know my way to the library.

'So, do you want me to go then?'

'Oh, no you don't have to go. You're welcome to come if you want.'

They go into the library...

'Hey guys where are you?' April yells standing at the door with Rob.

'We're at the back, come on through!' Wesley yells back to April.

'OK, we're coming!' April answers taking Rob's hand and going to the back.

'Who is we?' James and Wesley ask together.

'Yeah I did. Everyone, this is Rob. Rob this are John, Wesley and James.'

'Hey everyone.' Rob says a bit nervous.

'Come sit down so you can eat your lunch.'

'Here's a place come on Rob. So tell me Wes have you found a decent place to stay yet?'

'No we're still looking.' James answers.

'Well look no further. I leave in a large house and I'm looking for 2 roommates.' Rob says looking at James and Wesley.

'What?! Are you serious?' April interrupts before anyone can say anything.

'Yeah, my other roommates were sick of living there so they just moved out!' Rob explains.

'And how much do we have to pay?' Wesley asks Rob.

'Nothing. The house is from my dad. Neither of us had to pay.'

'Thanks man we really appreciate that.' Wesley and James answer together.

'It's nothing. Otherwise I'm alone anyway so...'

The bell rings, Rob and April hurry back to class. When they both are in class they write a note to one another.

Hey Rob,

I must confess you are a nice guy, really. Thanks for being so nice to me. I don't have many friends and I could surely use some. James and Wesley are the only two who stood up for me when I was in trouble in my old school.

I also want to thank you for giving them a place to live.

I will be coming at your house a lot when they live there. I hope you don't mind.

I will end now otherwise you will surely fall asleep.

I have to admit I had a whole other picture of you in my head when Louise told me about you.

But now I met you, I like you the way you are.

You are a really nice and friendly person.

And about your fiends it's OK and I don't mind that they live with me.

I could use the company around the house because living alone is not for me. Sorry for the ugly handwriting but I had not much time to write this.

schools out and Rob and April go to the library. They meet before they go inside and give each other the note.

'I hope you don't mind. I just wanted to thank you for what you have done for James and Wesley.' April says while giving the note.

'No it's nothing, I'll be happy to read it.' Rob says with a smile while he give his note to her.

'Can I come now to your house to?'

'Sure you can.' he answers giving her a look!

'Then I know where they are if I need them.'

'Come on let's go before they close everything.'

After an hour they are all at Rob's place.

'Wow this is nice.' Wesley says admiring the big stairs.

'And big!' James adds to Wesley's comment.

'Didn't I tell you it would be OK!' Rob says looking at them. 'Come on let me show you where you can put your stuff.'

They all go upstairs and Rob opens the first door the come across.

'Wesley this can be your room!' Rob adds.

'Are you serious?! This is twice as big as my last room!' Wesley says happy.

'I'm glad you like it. But you can always switch with James if you like.'

'This is fine!' Wesley says opening the door besides the first one 'and I'm guessing this is James his room then?'

'you've got a good guess!' Rob answers.

'Look at this! There can be more then 3 people in here without suffocating!' James suddenly gasps.

'Let me show you the rest of the house. These stairs lead to the Kitchen. And there is a bathroom here and downstairs. And the attic, is not allowed!'

'OK fine! I wasn't planning of going to the attic anyways!' James says taking his stuff into the room.

'Now you know where everything how do you like it?' Rob asks them.

'I think it's a nice place. At least it's better then our previous place.' Wesley answers

'You've said it Wesley!' James agrees with him.

'Hey you guys I really have to go home now otherwise mum and dad will ground me for sure' April suddenly says.

'OK, you go home, and I'm sure we'll talk.' Rob answers to her.

'Here is number, if you want you can call me later!' April says giving Wesley a card.

'But what would we say? She knows our voices.' James suddenly says.

'Let Rob call. And when I have the phone you come and talk to me.' she explains her idea.

'OK if he has time we will call around eight.' Wesley says like her idea.

'Fine, but I really should be going now!'

'Go now before you get grounded.' Rob yells.

'OK, bye you guys.' April yells running downstairs...

April is just home in time before her parents get back from the supermarket. After dinner the phone rings.

'Hello' April say answering it

'Euhm hello can I speak to April please.' Rob answers very nervously.

'This is April speaking!'

'Hey, it's Rob how are you?'

'I'm fine and you?'

'Sorry but I didn't know if I was at the right place.'

'It's OK it could happen to anyone. Where are James and Wesley?'

'They are in their rooms. Enjoying how big it is. Do I have to call them?'

'No let them enjoy their room.'

'And? Did you get grounded?'

'No my parents weren't home and I was home just in time before they got back from the store.'

'I hope your mum didn't hear you say that.'

'No this is the phone in my room. No one will ever picks up in here.'

'Oh why didn't you say that before.'

'I forgot I guess. Hey, can I ask you something?'

'Sure what is it?'

'What would you say if I ever told you I liked you?'

'I would ask as a friend or more?'

'More because there was something about the way we met!'

'April, is this for real?'

'What do you think?'

'I don't know what to think to be honest.'

'What do you mean? Did I scare you?'

'I don't know if you want this to be real or not.'

'I want this to be real. I mean, think I do feel something for you! But am a little bit afraid to be honest!'

'Why? do I look like I'm going to bite your head of?'

'No you don't! I'm just being ridiculous!'

'If this is for real. I want you to know, I like you too, and I would love for you to come over to visit James and Wesley.'

'Thanks Rob you're a nice person!'

'Can I ask you something?'

'Sure!'

'How is it possible for you to like me if you only know me a few hours? I mean why me?'

'Well it's very simple you were nice from the moment I met you! And when I read your letter I just knew you were OK!'

'Really? But I thought a girl like you could have any guy she wanted and not some loser like me.'

'You are so not a loser!'

'Yeah I am! why else don't I have many friends?'

'If people don't like you then it's there business. I like you the way you are, even if you are a loser!' she says trying to sheer him up.

'Thanks April.' he answers feeling a bit better.

'And what are you doing this evening?'

'Oh I don't know yet! I think I'm going to watch TV a bit and then get an early night.'

'An early night! it's almost nine.'

'I know, but I could surely could do with a good night sleep!'

'What's wrong, If I may ask?'

'I keep having this strange dream! I kill someone and they have to lock my up in prison.'

'Don't worry! You're to nice too kill someone!'

'But what can I do to stop those dreams?'

'I don't know! for me it always helps to think of something good.' she explains.

'And does it work?'

'Usually it does.'

'Is thinking of a certain person also good?'

'Sure, as long as it makes you happy, it will help.'

'I think I'm going to hang up now because I want to shower before I'm of to bed.'

'OK I will try and answer your letter.'

'OK and thanks for the talk April.'

'Talk to you tomorrow?'

'Yeah,sure! Bye'

this being said, they hang up the phone. Rob is smiling and going up to his room, while April, smiles and begins to write her answer to Rob's letter.

It's almost midnight when April finishes her letter. With a smile on her face she falls asleep... thinking of what Rob could be doing at the same moment...
