Women, alcohol and cigarettes...
This is life.
It was a hard struggled path I chose.
Alone.
There was nothing else I rather depend upon than women, alcohol and the daily four packs of cigarettes. I lived quite all right being stranded in a small, homey-house made for one. And by night, I'll be living it up with the usual all-nighters at bars and gambling for what I need to stabilize myself from. Nothing really matters to me anymore. What can I say? I'm used to it. It's my lifestyle and it's also apart of me.
Women, alcohol and cigarettes...
Nothing else changes that.
Perhaps it did?
Until that day, when I met you...
I was on my way home from the bar while walking through the usual forestry path. The skies were already dusky and grey, when it turned foul on me. It began pouring heavy droplets of rain from the vast skies. Well... so much for the weather reports? I ran as fast as I could to get home to avoid the continuous drops of water that kept pouring down and saw something...
I stopped.
I wasn't sure who or what it was...
There was a figure lying drenched on the ground.
I was not sure whether or not I wanted to help?
I hesitated.
I didn't think it was a choice either?
I had one, but somehow I felt I was attracted to you at that moment, but for whatever reasons I never seemed to figure out why? I brought you home into my house as things began to untwine. My life began to change as we speak. It was uncomfortable at first, but you began to alter my life from that day.
It was your endless smiles and inspiring words that kept me going and made me realize whom I really am. There was not a single day I couldn't live without you or having you leave my side. You listened to all my sorrows and understood me. You even trusted me even for that brief second and I did the same.
Heh.
You never did leave on that rainy day, did you?
It was because you had nowhere else to go.
I didn't blame you.
Maybe you might have did the same?
Stranger.
You were a stranger I welcomed into my life.
What is your name again?
The words of your name I could never forget.
Hakkai.
Cho Hakkai.
