Dave saw Strauss enter the elevator and he jogged to get in there with her. He slid through the doors just before they closed. Strauss sighed, it was going to be a long elevator trip. She stood quietly in the corner hoping Dave would avoid acknowledging her. She was out of luck.
"Hello Erin" Dave said, pushing the stop button after the car started moving. Erin Strauss swallowed thickly. The normally short, 8 second ride was about to become a whole lot longer. She knew she shouldn't have tried to force JJ out of her position. The David Rossi, JJ's supervisor and husband, would always have a few words for her. She sighed.
"Hello Dave, what can I do for you?" she asked professionally. Dave smirked.
"I'd watch what you say to others Strauss. Don't forget I have more power than you do with the director. You need to leave this team alone Strauss. We have enough going on that we don't need you on top of that" Dave warned. Erin wasn't about to back down, although she realized she probably should have.
"I need to monitor the teams under me Dave, you should know that. I'm sorry if your team is a little more…" Strauss searched for the right words to use. "…off track than the other teams" she finished.
"Listen here Strauss, we go day by day, one day at a time just to make it through catching the unsubs. Unsubs that you couldn't even imagine in your wildest dreams. Don't sit there and pretend that you know what any of us are going through. Back off of this team, or I will have your badge" Dave said before he started the elevator back up. Strauss gulped and stayed quiet. Dave smiled as he got off the elevator and wrapped an arm around JJ's waist before turning back to Strauss. "Remember this chat" he said as the doors closed again. JJ looked up at him curiously.
"What chat Dave?" JJ asked as he walked her to her office. Dave smiled down at her and kissed her on the temple.
"Nothing bella, absolutely nothing you have to worry your gorgeous head over" he responded. JJ gave him a short look, but shrugged her shoulders and left it alone. He would tell her later if he wanted to have fun tonight.

Strauss sat at her desk, the bottle of Scotch open and her glass to her lips. Dave had scared her, but she couldn't admit that to anyone for fear of self preservation. For now she would keep her mouth shut and let the BAU team go. For now anyway…
