Obi-wan is sitting in on a bed in a cell, legs crossed and his eyes closed. Cody is across from him, lying on his back on his bed. he seems troubled.
"Sir?"
Obi-wan doesn't open his eyes," Yes?"
"The Duchess.....Did you love her once?"
Obi-wan shifts slighty,"I thought I did, when I was young. She came and visited the Temple when I was still a youngling and I thought she was an angel. We met later when I was a padiwan and...We thought we had something, but it was just hormones."
"But, what was it you thought you had?" Cody sounded confused.
"Love, commander. Something every normal being, in some way, will experience in their lifetime. It's like a special connection between the two beings."
Cody seems very confused now," So, love is what?"
Obi-wan sighs and opens his eyes, swinging his legs over the side of the bed," Have you ever cared for something?"
"Yeah, my blaster, I clean it multiple times a day."
"So you have a special spot for your blaster."
"Yeah, I even have a bag for it."
Obi-wan shakes his head," That's not what I meant. You would die for this being or thing if you loved it, without a second thought."
"Oh..."Cody falls silent.
Obi-wan is about to get back to meditating when a thought hits him," You really care for someone, don't you?"
Cody starts, looking at obi-wan," What? No! I was just wondering....some of the men talk about it....."
Obi-wan smiles," Right, Cody. Who is she?"
"No one!" Cody sits up, a little frustrated," It doesn't matter."
"Are you restricting yourself or is she the one with restrictions?"
Cody sighs, knowing it's useless to argue with a Jedi," Both, I guess. What she does forbids it and I don't think....would anyone want a cripple?"
"Some people do. You just have to wait."
Cody sighs, sounding defeated, "Sometimes it's hard to wait."
"Well, ours is over. Anakin's waiting", Obi-wan stood and raised his hand, moving the cell door with ease.
