Hiya!
I realized that despite being such an avid Harry Potter fan, I don't have a single Harry Potter story. So here one is!
And it's nostalgic Snape. Our favorite type of Snape.
Dedicated to lost in a musical daydream, my fellow Potterhead. Love you, Dee!
Severus Snape was not the happiest person when he attended Hogwarts.
The girl he loved had despised him, all because he had chosen the wrong words. He beat himself up every day because of that one incident, and no matter how many times he had tried to apologize, either something would get in the way or Lily would ignore everything he said.
He knew he had hurt her and that practically killed him inside. Now it was too late; she was long gone, buried in Godric's Hallow beside her husband, that retched James Potter. He had ruined Severus' life. He could have been happy with Lily, but James had wedged his way in between them, eventually taking his place in the hole Severus had left in Lily's heart.
James had teased and bullied Severus endlessly, and it seemed like he was still doing that from the grave. The day Severus Snape had seen Harry Potter, he had practically wanted to throw him out of school for being James Potter's son. But he had taken one look at those eyes-Lily's eyes-and knew what Lily would have wanted him to do.
That still didn't mean Severus didn't despise the child.
He had his moments where he had protected the Potter boy, all because he was Lily's son. He certainly didn't save him all those bloody times because James had helped conceive the boy. The boy's side of James always reminded Severus of those terrible times at Hogwarts. Harry Potter was a lot like his father; how he was a star Quidditch player, known by all, and how he seemed to be so full of himself.
But there were tidbits of Lily in him. Severus noticed how he cared deeply for his friends and valued their lives over his own. How he was so determined; Lily had been the exact same way.
Severus let out a large sigh through his nose, placing the picture of Lily and he back on his fireplace mantle. He had loved her-he still loved her, and he would love no one else for as long as he would live.
"You remind me of a puppy," Lily had once said. Severus let out a deep, baritone chuckle as he blew out his candles. Yes, he supposed he was like a puppy.
A foolish, love sick puppy.
Hope you liked it! Review, please!
