Midnight. They had to run. Keep on running and running, never stopping to look back on what the world had done to them. What their friends had done to them. What their family had done to them. What they had done to each other. They would run and run until they got away, and then they would run some more, never letting each other go the whole time. Hands clasped together tightly, almost desperately, relying upon each other as the only people they could count on, and they weren't even sure of that.

They cursed the world. The world that had looked at them with disgust and hate. The world that was so ashamed of them that it had shunned them out. The world that was so against their relationship. The world that could not stand the truth of what were, scared of what it would be facing. The world that ignored them, that did not give them the help they required even when they begged for it.

Yet still they ran. On and on, through countless days and countless nights. Over impossible landscapes and treacherous terrain. Through the very fabric of reality itself. They kept on running. The journey of a thousand lifetimes. And then, they stopped. They had ran to the edge of the world and even farther beyond it. They rejoiced in their victory. Their unstoppable love for each other.

They sat down, in a cave that was not a cave, but a home. They held each other tightly, never squeezing too tight for fear they would hurt each other, never letting go for fear they would lose each other. They placed their heads against the smooth, natural rock, moving as one. Slowly, Draco turned to Harry and whispered what were, to him at least, the three most important words in the world.

'I love you'.

The words were barely audible, but to Harry, the sound was all that mattered. He turned to Draco and pressed their lips together, holding him in a tender kiss. That one kiss was all it took for Draco to be happy. He moved himself as close to Harry as he could, rested his head on the chest of the one he loved and, slowly, closed his eyes. They were soon asleep, oblivious to the world around them, the temporary tranquillity of their surrounding enveloping them in its tender grasp, until they would have to run again.
