THE PIE HOLE - INTRO
It was a beautiful day in the town of Coeur de Coeur, but something was tugging at Olive Snook's tongue and she had to share it with someone.
in the pie hole
Olive approached the table where Ned the man she loved, Emerson the man she didn't know how to even like, and Chuck the girl who said was her friend were consulting on their latest case. She hovered for a moment but was startled when asked a question by a customer
"May I have a menu please?"
Olive turned around and saw Alfredo. She didn't know what to do. She glanced toward Chuck who was just staring at her, Ned who was urging her to give the customer a menu, and Emerson who was silently laughing at Olive's difficulty to use words.
Finally Olive got the courage to say
"Alfredo…..what a surprise."
She glanced toward Ned, the man she so desperately loved but knew she could never have, and looked at him with pleading eyes that were longing to say "I love you Ned! I've always loved you! And now I need your help." But the pie maker quickly looked away from Olive's soft eyes and stared at the table. Olive felt like she wanted to cry but decided it was best to wait until she was inside her cozy apartment with Digby to release her emotions.
"Let me just get you a menu" she said quietly and solemnly.
After she had seated Alfredo and given him his order of a decaf vanilla frap with rhubarb pie, she went over to the pie maker who was rolling out dough all alone in the back of the pie hole. She didn't look at him when she spoke these words
"Ned, I just need some time off now. I'm going to go out the back and if that man over there asks where I went, just please make something up."
And with that said she went over to get her coat. But before she was halfway there, a hand reached out and grabbed her hand in a reassuring manner. She looked up and saw the pie maker smiling down at her. She was startled and pulled her hand away quickly and ran out the door. The pie maker had just then realized his feelings for Olive were real, and he couldn't let her go.
