Sunday Mornings
Disclaimer: I do not own Inuyasha or any affiliated characters/products. If I did, Miroku and Sango would've gotten together by now.
She loved Sunday mornings. They had always been slow, relaxed days, with very little to do. And that was good. In fact, right now that was very good.
Ever since she was little, she liked to watch the hustle and bustle of her neighbors going to church. All the plain white and shoe polish made little sense, but she loved it. It gave off an atmosphere of something being done. There was something worth getting up at six on a weekend for.
Of course, once she went to church, she realized the futility and pointlessness of it all. Why drag yourself out of bed to get preached at, or feel guilty the rest of the week?
So Sundays were her lazy days.
Especially now, that there was someone else who shared her bleak views on early mornings.
Miroku stirred in his sleep and mumbled something, turning his face away from the sunlight melting from the windows. Sango smiled and kissed his cheek before getting out of bed to make breakfast. Miroku was a good cook. But she knew he'd been up late the previous night.
She had barely gotten the oven on, when familiar hands encircled her waist. She covered his hands with her own, and smiled.
"Good morning sweetie." She said calmly.
"'Morning" He mumbled, his eyes still closed. She leaned into him, and he breathed a sigh of contentment.
"Those trick-or-treaters sure were up late last night." She commented.
He tensed a bit.
She froze.
"Don't tell me." She said, immediately tense as well. He sighed and nodded.
"We got egged."
She groaned. "I told you it was a bad idea to give all the teenagers canned beans!"
"Don't worry. I chased the little brats down with the silly string."
She had to laugh. Only Miroku would chase teenagers down in the dead of night for egging on Halloween.
"So justice was served?" She teased. He grinned.
"Justice was served with relish"
