THE END OF THE BEGINNING
It was the night of the last day of the 75th Hunger Games or the Third Quarter Quell.
"The lightning's near…" Plutarch said.
"Yeah, we should lower the hovercraft now, Plutarch." Haymitch headed to the control area.
Then the hovercraft shook.
"Whoa, what's that?!" Haymitch said.
Plutarch looked out of the window. He saw another hovercraft, which was larger and more powerful than theirs. "Another hovercraft,"
"It's a rebel hovercraft, right, Plutarch?"
"It's the Capitol's," swallowed Plutarch.
The control room exploded, killing Haymitch and the operators then the whole hovercraft exploded, reducing Plutarch and the doctors and nurses into bits of flesh.
In the arena, the lightning came and struck the tree. Beetee was blasted away and hit the force field, followed by his cannon.
Katniss, who was holding the tree, got struck and was electrocuted. She screamed painfully. She fell to the ground . . . her cannon sounded.
On the other side of the Arena, Peeta screamed, "KATNISS!" He seemed to lose the will to live. He fell to the ground, crying.
Nearby, Brutus just speared Chaff. After the cannon, Brutus retrieved his spear and heard the scream. He followed it and saw Peeta lying on a tree. He snickered and killed him, receiving guttural screams from Peeta.
After Brutus removed his spear, Peeta smiled, his eyes wandering dreamily. He whispered, "Katniss, Katniss. I'm here. Katniss" and his cannon sounded.
In the 1-2 section, Finnick and Enobaria were fighting as the blood rain splattered onto them. Enobaria's teeth were repelling the blood from entering her mouth, but Finnick had nothing. He had a mouthful and gagged. When he was off guard, Enobaria stabbed him at the back, impaling his lungs, killing him. Enobaria walked to the beach and washed herself.
In the other side, Brutus was hunting Johanna. He was peering through the trees and vines just as Johanna screamed and lodged her axe on his chest, killing him.
"Good luck to our final two tributes and may the odds be ever in your favor." Claudius Templesmith said.
Enobaria rose from the lake and scanned for Johanna. "I'm pretty sure she's in the 11-12 section right now." Enobaria thought. But she was wrong. Johanna appeared from the 4-5 section when Enobaria was peering through the 11-12 section near the 1-2 section. Johanna was quietly walking to her…then the sand and her shoes made a sound. Johanna took her chance and threw her axe at Enobaria. Enobaria turned and ducked and threw her knife. It missed Johanna by an inch. Johanna made her way to her axe, dodging Enobaria's throwing knives. Enobaria threw a knife which was aimed at Johanna's head, but Johanna dived left and grabbed her axe. Enobaria threw another which hit Johanna's foot, making her unable to stand.
Enobaria realized she only has one knife left. Enobaria and Johanna both simultaneously threw their weapons at each other. Johanna's axe hit Enobaria's shoulder and she fell to the ground. But unfortunately, Enobaria's knife hit Johanna's chest. A cannon boom follows.
"Congratulations to the Victor of the 75th Hunger Games, the Third Quarter Quell, Enobaria Silver!"
