"Come on!" he said, extending his hand to her. She looked behind his glasses into ocean blue eyes and saw something there that gave her the strength to grab onto his hand and pull herself up. She knew that Chance needed her as much as she had needed him only hours before. The explosion was immense, and the heat that resulted was excruciatingly painful, but she managed to get out of the worst of it with only minor burns and scrapes.

"Listen," she said breathlessly, "I don't have any idea what's going on."

"Well, we found a little more information than we thought we would and it says that you are in more danger than we originally thought. Chance will be alright for now. We need to get you back with Winston, and I'll come back for him," he said as they crept around the area around the abandoned mine.

"Can I ask what kind of danger that entails, or is it just overall danger?" she asked.

"I think its just overall danger. I mean obviously you were supposed to die back there, or at least be wounded enough that you wouldn't live long after, and you look pretty good to me. No worse for wear, I mean. Which means-"

"Which means that they will be comin' after me as soon as they figure out I'm still around," she said, interrupting him.

"Yeah. That's exactly what that means. Are you sure that you're up for this?" he asked as he turned to face her.

She stood there for a second, her head hung low looking at the ground and then she slowly raised her face and looked him dead in the eyes. He kind of jumped back at that and she snorted a laugh and said, "Totally, dude," and held out her fist between them. He met her fist with his own and then they dropped their arms to their sides. "I'm not goin' with Winston. Chance needs help, let's get him," she said.

"Are you sure," he asked as he grabbed her arm.

"Yeah. Should I take a bullet, oh well. It happens. More people than me need Chance's help."
