"Danna, it looks like it's going to rain. We'll have to take shelter; if the clay gets wet it'll disintegrate, hm."

"It won't do well for my body either...there's a cave over there where we can wait it out."

With a nod Deidara steered his giant clay bird toward the aforementioned cavern. Good thing too, as just at that moment the heavens opened up and let loose a torrent of water. Soon the two nin were soaked and quite thankful for the protection the little fissure offered.

The clay creation landed, depositing its riders then disappearing in a puff of smoke. Deidara put the scroll that now held his transportation away.

"Lets get a fire going."

Sasori took out a tinder box, passing it to the blue eyed man, not wanting to risk setting his own body ablaze. Deidara lit the bits of wood and noticing some dried up vines on the walls, added those as well. They stripped themselves of their cloaks and laid them near the fire to dry.

"I hope it lets up soon, hm."

"Might not, we haven't had rain in awhile."

As if to prove Sasori's point a deafening clap of thunder rumbled as flashes of lightning lit the sky. The puppet master looked at the horizon appraisingly.

"...It won't be letting up until morning."

"Dammit, stupid rain, hm."

"You don't like rain Deidara?"

"N-no, I'm just fine with the rain..."

Another bolt of lightning shot through the dark clouds just as the red head turned to look at the younger man. The timing was just so that he saw a flicker of panic in the eye that wasn't obscured. Sasori, being from Suna, took rain as a good omen and couldn't really understand how anyone could fear it.

Deidara, staring intently at the fire before him, trying to ignore the surrounding downpour, didn't notice his partner standing. He did notice; however, when that wooden body sat itself behind him and pulled him back to lean against the fake chest, next to the other's heart box.

"Sasori-no-danna...you're warm, hm?"

"Chakra."

"Oh."

Deidara, body tense before, relaxed and leaned into the comforting body allowing Sasori to cross his arms over his slim waist, holding him in place. While the blonde watched the shapes in the fire's embers, the puppeteer watched as the storm roared on. As the fire died the two fell asleep.

The sun rose clear and hot the next morning, illuminating the cave and the two Akatsuki shinobi. The taller one stirred, letting out a small groan of complaint against the morning. He stopped moving when he felt something against his back. Turning his neck, Deidara saw his partner still sleeping soundly. Carefully Deidara turned to face Sasori completely.

"Sasori-no-danna, hm. Wake up." he whispered into the S-classed nin's ear. Eyes fluttered open, brow creased; Sasori was not happy about being woken. "The storm put us behind schedule, hm. We have to get moving." Deidara explained.

"Oh I'm sure we have enough time." Sasori replied before moving forward to capture the artist's lips. After a minute Deidara pulled away to breath and answer, "I guess Pain-sama can wait another day." Smirking at each other they resumed making out.

A/N: Deidara is only really afraid of storms because he went flying once on his bird and a storm hit, he couldn't get to some shelter soon enough and the ground was covered in trees so he couldn't land. The bird disintegrated and he fell. Don't worry though, the trees slowed his fall, albeit painfully.
