There Was a Time
A/N: Drabble. What more can I say? This can either be HA or BB. It's your choice.
Summary: There was a time when she wanted it. And there was a time when she would have run away.

She was lying in bed, fully awake, as her thoughts wandered. She glanced at the sleeping man next to her and then looked away.
There was a time when she wanted this. A time when she fantasized about being married and having children. And there was a time when she would have run away. And she did run. She ran away from relationships, away from people, and away from places. She was scared. And when she was scared she ran. She didn't want to become too attached to anyone, for fear of being hurt. She knew. She knew it could happen.
Still, she got a job finally in DC. It was the best job she ever had. She was safe there and she had friends. She allowed herself to open up to them and let them in. And she dated some people, and some of them turned out to be asses, but it didn't sway her. And then she started dating her co-worker. It was something she didn't normally agree to, but they were perfect together. He had proposed to her and she accepted. Their wedding was perfect and now they had a daughter on the way.
She glanced over at the sleeping man once more as a smile graced her lips. There was a time when she didn't want this. But she knows that she always has a way out if she needs it. And there was a time when she would have run away in the middle of the night. But this time she doesn't. She smiles again as she falls asleep next to her husband.
