Katherine

It was a Monday, a very icky one. The sky was once again clouded over, and the Cullens following me around afraid I would hurt myself.

The oldest Cullen, Edward, thought I was in love with him. I wasn't. he asked me to marry him, and I was trying to stall as long as possible so that he wouldn't suspect anything.

I was far from the clumsy human they though I was. I was not Bella Swan, but Katherine Pierce, a 587 year old vampire.

Anyways, the Cullens and I headed for lunch. Edward grabbed me a bowl of salad without even asking if I wanted it, and sat me down at their table. I quietly picked at my food, utterly miserable.

Suddenly, my phone rang. I looked at the screen to see Lucy's name flashing at me. Knowing that I couldn't let the Cullens in on our conversation, I decided to speak Latin.

"Nes ohe, Lucy," I spoke. (Hey there, Lucy)

I heard her chuckle, while watching the Cullens reactions to my awesome Latin speaking gift.

"Katherine, Klaus optime in Tricliniaria sum sicut loqui!" she said quickly. (Katherine, Klaus is headed into the cafeteria as I'm speaking!)

I quickly hung up, and Rosalie hissed at me as I grabbed my sweater from beside her. I was just about to get up when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Now, let us be a little more courteous, Sweetheart," came the very familiar voice of Klaus.

I paled, and the Klaus sat in the chair beside me, turning it so I was facing him. The Cullens looked extremely confused, and I didn't blame them.

"Klaus," I whispered. He grinned. "So you do remember me, Katerina?" he taunted. Edward huffed. "Her name is Bella," he stated. Klaus smirked. "Changing names again, Katerina?" he asked.

I shuffled me coat, thinking to make a break for it. But I knew he was faster.

Suddenly, there was a piece of pizza in front of me. "I know how much you dislike healthy food, Katerina," Klaus said, earning a growl from Edward, "you never ate your vegetables while living with me and Elijah."

Edward turned to face me. "You lived with two men before?" he hissed. I glared at him, and then turned to Klaus. "Why are you here?" I asked.

He shrugged. "I'm here to spring a deal," he said, looking into my eyes. I was suddenly glad that I was wearing vervain, and it was also in my system.

I held my chin high, and the Cullens looked on with raised brows. "What kind of deal?"

Klaus chuckled. "I need you to help us find Silas, and in exchange I shall grant you your freedom."

Alice decided to pipe up. "Freedom?" she asked, "But she isn't in a prison!"

I ignored her, my eyes glowing with gratefulness. "When do you need it done?" I asked. Klaus shrugged. "As soon as possible." Was all he said. I smirked. "Let me ask Lucy," I said, holding up a finger and dialling my witch's number.

"Katherine, are you alright?" Lucy asked frantically. I saw the Cullens raise their eyebrows, still very confused.

I looked at my nails. "Perfectly, Luce," I replied, crossing my legs, "but would you happen to have any idea where Silas the Gate Keeper is confined?" I could here her looking through her grimoires as I spoke, and looked to Klaus. He was smiling evilly at the Cullens, who now all looked rather uncomfortable.

"The Island of Padagona," Lucy said at last. "Klaus should know where it is," she continued. I nodded. "Thanks Witchy," I said as I hung up.

Klaus was smirking at me. "Your freedom has been granted, Katerina," he said, nodding once. "Now go find yourself a mate and stop with the ridiculous names you keep coming up with."

With that, he left. The Cullens all looked to me, and I blinked.

"Don't even start," I said, turning back to my pizza.
