Hey guys!

So, I recently started watching Fairy Tail. I went on a craze. I watched over a hundred episodes in less than a week. And... of COURSE... I had to write a little fanfiction on it!

So here you go. My specialty: tragedy and angst, with a little bit of romance shoved in there. Just a little. 'Cause what's the fun without it, right?

(And everyone knows NaLu is THE MOST CANON AND ABSOLUTE BEST FAIRY TAIL SHIP IN EXISTENCE!)

"Lucy."

I whispered her name, shaking with fear - and rage. They wouldn't get away with this. I wasn't going to let them hurt her. Not now, not ever.

But I couldn't do it. I couldn't break free. I couldn't reach her. I couldn't do anything.

"Lucy!"

I reached out. Threw myself against the steel cage, reaching through the bars, as if I could somehow reach her. As if I could actually make a difference. As if I could save her.

She was crying. She was beaten and bruised, and I knew her body couldn't take any more of this torture.

The tears rolled down her cheeks, and she let out a choked sob.

"Natsu!"

She cast me one last, pleading glance, begging me to do something. Anything.

Begging me to save her.

I had never seen Lucy look so absolutely broken. And when I saw that face, streaked with tears, pleading for me to rescue her, something inside me just snapped.

I don't know what I did next. But the next thing I knew, the bars holding me were gone. Everyone standing there was thrown back. And the man holding Lucy -

The one who had smashed her face into the ground and made her beg for mercy -

The one who had kicked her, again and again, until she coughed up blood -

The one who had made her scream -

The one who had made her cry -

Suddenly, he was on the ground. The spell he'd been about to cast had collapsed.

I stood there, panting, exhausted, but victorious. I'd done it. I'd done it! I saved Lucy! I -

But wait -

Something was wrong.

Lucy was on the ground. She wasn't moving.

My eyes widened in horror when I saw her lying there. I stumbled over to her.

No.

Please no.

Lucy's hands were clutched over her chest. There was blood there, soaking her shirt.

No.

I was too slow. He had gotten to her.

Lucy's breathing was labored and shallow. Her eyelids were half-closed.

"N-Natsu...?"

"Lucy," I whispered, my voice cracking. "Lucy, I - "

"No." She cut me off, reaching up to wrap her arms around my neck. "It's - " The words caught in her throat, and she started coughing. Blood splattered across her clothes and mine. "It's okay, N-Natsu..."

"Lucy, please," I begged, holding her body close to my own. "Just hold on a little longer! Wendy can heal you, you'll be fine, just hold on!"

She smiled weakly up at me and shook her head. I blinked back tears. She wasn't gonna make it.

"Natsu... d-did I ever tell you..." Tears shone in her eyes. "I-I love you, Natsu..."

I gritted my teeth, trying desperately to hold in my tears. "Lucy..."

Her eyes fell shut.

"Lucy, I..."

She stopped breathing. I drew in a sharp breath and pulled her closer.

"L-Lucy?"

"Come on, Luce. Get up. Stop foolin' with me." My voice started to shake. "It's not funny, Lucy. G-get up!"

"Lucy!"

"Lucy, please! Open your eyes!"

But her eyes stayed shut.

I leaned forward, pressing my forehead to hers, and let out an anguished cry. "Lucy!"

I couldn't believe it. I refused to believe it.

Gone.

She was gone.

Lucy Heartfilia was gone.

And she wasn't opening her eyes.

Was that too sad? :3

Happy NaLu week!
