"Winning"
Colonel John Sheppard walked into the training room for his sparring lesson with Teyla. As usual, she was waiting for him. He flashed her a smile, and started stretching.
" Ready to finally be beaten?" He asked her, and she chuckled. " We'll wait to see the outcome. Are you ready to begin?" At his nod, she started circling around, waiting for an opening, and he followed suit.
John licked his lips, determind to beat her this time. He waited for the opening that he needed... There! He lunged forward, but she parried it easily. He frowned, and backed away. " You can do better than that, Colonel." She said, and damn her, John couldn't tell if she was teasing him or not.
" Just making sure you were paying attention. I wouldn't want to beat you when you were daydreaming or something." She ignored him and suddenly slammed her stick at his legs. He jumped and avoided it, and did the unexpected: swung his own stick at the back of her legs, tripping her.
He quickly straddled her, grinning like a maniac. " Told you I would-" She quickly flipped him over so she was on top.
" What were you saying, John?" He grumbled under his breath. " Next time, then." She smiled knowingly, and let him up. She turned to walk away, but he grabbed her and pinned her to the wall.
She gasped, but he had her firmly under his control. It was the he realized how close they were, and slowly leaned in for a quick kiss, a simple brush of lips.
" I'd say I won."
