If you don't believe in Heaven, or any form of afterlife, I recommend you don't read this story. :)

Tohru, my Tohru... It's so nice to see that you're happy... And you've made them happy too...
A woman with short red hair sat above the Earth, watching with much enjoyment a girl named Tohru Honda. In life, the woman's name had been Kyoko Honda, and the girl had been her daughter.
Now... She really didn't know where she was, in all honesty. Some called it Heaven, some called it Limbo, some said that they were all in God's Kingdom now. To Kyoko, it was merely a place where she could watch her daughter. Watch her and see her make choices, mistakes, miracles.
She had seen her daughter live in a happy home with three men, who shared the name of Sohma, though none of them were blood related. She saw her daughter find out about the curse, and meet members of the Zodiac one by one. She saw her heal the hearts of those who had been hurt, and she had seen her lift the curse, freeing the family of heartache. Her daughter, her Tohru, had made many people happy, and that made Kyoko happy.
I wish... I had been there with you...
Suddenly, Kyoko heard footsteps behind her. She saw a man, a rather handsome man, with deep brown hair that fell just below his chin. He had bangs and a soft face. His cheeks were worn and tender, and Kyoko could tell that this man had cried more tears than could fill the sea.
"Mind if I join you...?" He asked. His voice was silky, and coarse at the same time, the voice of a sickly someone. "I'd like to watch my daughter."
"Not at all. Have a seat." Kyoko responded, full of smiles and brass. "I was just watching my daughter, myself."
"Oh? What's she like?" The man seated himself next to her, and she could see the ripple in his eyes as he took in the sight of Earth. Wherever his daughter was, whatever she was doing, he was seeing her now. Slow, salty tears rolled down his pale cheek.
"She's... wonderful. I couldn't have given birth to a better baby girl. She's helped a family she once knew nothing about, and now has a whole slew of friends. And a fiancé too-Ha! I can't wait to watch them bicker and quarrel over the wedding."
"She does sound wonderful. Like she was born to be loved..." Hus eyes rippled once more, and he turned to look at Kyoko. "Tell me... what's your name?"
Kyoko held out a gruff hand to shake. "Honda. Honda Kyoko."
He shook it, and Kyoko could feel warmth and love and friendliness in his palm. "I am Akira Sohma."
"Mom, I staying with Sohma-kun..."
His eyes lit up with lonely joy and he spoke once again in his sickly voice, "Yes. I do believ our daughters are well acquainted with one another."
Kyoko simply sat there, dumbfounded. "Y-You're-"
"Akito's father."
Kyoko awkwardly stood up, and made an even more awkward attempt to bow, before Akira cut her off.
"No, no, there's no need for that. I, of course, am no longer God, so there is no need to bow."
Kyoko sat back down. "Yes... of course. I apologize. So our daughters... they are friends?"
He chuckled. A lighthearted, warm chuckle. "If that's what you'd call it. Although, it's true, no one has ever been able to make my Akito-hime* open up like you're Tohru-chan* has."
Kyoko smiled. "I'm very glad that Tohru could help someone who so needed it!"
Akira starred back down at the Earth. "Kyoko-san, would you like for us to watch our daughters together?"
Kyoko turned back to the enormous world before them as well, and smiled. "Yes. I'd like that very much."
