Yukki felt the cold air skim her skin. From her place on the edge of the calm lands, she could see far into the distance. It was more peaceful to her in the moonlight.
My mother walked these grounds…now it's my turn. I only wish that it was on different circumstances.
"Yukki"? She turned to see Leon staring at her. His blonde hair reflecting the light from the moon. " You okay"?
She smiled. " Yes I am fine".
Leon was an Albhed. He had been with her since almost the start of her journey. She didn't know very much about him though. The blade he wore around his shoulder gleamed. " We should stop here. Get some rest, you know"? Yukki nodded. " I'll take the first watch". He said watching her sit down. " This is the calm lands". The chains he wore on his waste clanked when he turned out towards the fields. " Doesn't mean nothings here". Yukki studied him. His blonde hair blew in the soft breeze. They had black ends that brought out his matching dark eyes. He wore overalls and he let the tip part of them unsnapped. " Thanks". Yukki said. He smiled. " You're welcome".
She walked over a couple of paces to some tall grass and sat down. He was right. That didn't mean nothing was here. The world only a couple of years ago entered a time called the eternal darkness. The sun had no longer risen when it was supposed to and creatures came like no others she had seen. Shadows. Lots of shadows that worked at the hand of Gemini, a demon who had taken control of the world and all Machina. You see over the years all the machine no longer had to be controlled by people or by themselves. A mega computer called the Digital system controlled all machina, but maybe that was the cause for the wolrd's down fall. As soon as the eternal darkness came The system center lost control as Gemini gained it. It was a terrible loss. The world had also split itself into many domed cities that collapsed killing millions. Only two domed cities remained. The Zanarkan Ruins being one of them. Along with this, Yukki's mother, Yuna, and her father , Titus, Had been called to help with the war against Gemini. She hadn't seen them for over eight years. After she turned fifteen she ran away from the care of LuLu and Joined a group of Sunstone hunters called the Black&Whites to look for sunstones to power what little machina the Zanarkan government recovered. Sun stones were a type of stone discovered that could power machina longer than any gas. Leon Had been with her ever since she joined the Black&Whites a year ago. And he treated her like family. But he wasn't the only one, A boy nick named Kiwi had taught her all she knows about computers. Sheer, the teams leader, had showed her how to fight, and Sakura, had treated her like family. They all meant something special to Yukki, But the real reason for this journey wasn't to find sunstones for the Zanarkan government. It was to find the people she considered most dear to her.
