This is a sonnet I submitted for English class. It's Shakespearean as I am attempting to compete with the Bard himself.
Dragonslayer's Oath
I pledge my whole life to serve the Empire
And perform all my duties with fervour
To brave all dangers, no matter how dire
And to triumph in every endeavour.
I dedicate all that's in my power
To serve loyally my lord and master
To defend him 'til my final hour
Willing Death to steal my spirit faster.
Sans contradiction, I'll do as I'm told
Executing orders diligently
To our noble cause my being is sold
For this I aspire and work ardently.
As Fate unfolds, and weave's Destiny's strands
Our ideal future is in my hands.
