Morgan laid on the small loft in the RV, shaking slightly. She knew she was lucky to get out of there alive, let alone with no fuss at all. It helped he was at work, and her best friends were wrestlers. Matt and Jeff Hardy alone were imposing, but add in Paul Levesque, Shawn Hickenbottom, and Mark Calloway, and anyone walking down the street would run the other way if they didn't look happy. It was Matt's idea, she was told, to get her outta there finally. She really didn't care who's idea it was. She was out of there, that's all that mattered. He had suckered her since she was 16, by the time she was 18, it was too late. She left home to be with him. The only family that would talk to her were her uncles, Shawn and Paul.
Matt and Jeff weren't family, but they were close enough. He allowed her one call a week to them, no matter if they were on the road or at home.
She got the courage to tell them what they already knew when he threatened to kill her if she left. Yes she knew things were bad, but she didn't know it had gotten that bad. She finally got scared. 6 years of being with him, 4 years of living with him, and it took a death threat to bring her around. She felt so stupid.
Morgan jumped as the door opened, so sure it was him. Then she saw the familiar tall blonde head of her Uncle Paul. "Babybug? You ok?" He asked quietly, climbing up the short ladder. She declined to answer, instead curling into his waiting embrace. Morgan knew she was safe here.
The door opened once more, and without a word her Uncle Shawn climbed up there and wrapped his arms around her as well. With her two uncles there, holding her, she finally let the tears fall.
