Dr. Gale Spacebyte sighed as she finally sat down in her office. Work was really hounding her, causing her to feel overworked. Before opening the case file, she noticed a little note written from one of the nurses at the reception desk. It was a very simple message; her daughter was with some friends and would be spending some time with them and that she wouldn't be home that night or even the next day. Knowing that her daughter was safe (she never had any reason to believe her daughter was in any sort of danger since a nurse would not write this (and she knows every nurse and their handwriting); plus her daughter was trustworthy), Gale did not bother to rush home so early. Instead, she took to her many case files and began to diagnose as much of them as she could before she called it quits at midnight.
After resting for a good seven hours, the middle-aged doctor wandered down the kitchen to prepare herself some breakfast, turning on the radio to the talk show channel she regularly listens to. As she was pouring herself a cup of coffee, she looked up and noticed multiple green lights shooting down from the sky, heading for the ground. Her first thought (aside from "Oh my…") was that her baby was somewhere far away from her. She dropped her mug of coffee and sprinted for the front door, intent on heading outside and finding her daughter to protect her.
When she opened the door, she found green monsters outside on her lawn, heading towards her. She acted quickly and shut the door, locking it before running up the stairs to her room. Without any hesitation she opened her closest sliding door and, after pushing back the clothing in it, grabbed her father's shot gun. He had taught her how to use it a long time ago, and every so often she'd go out and practice. She was a natural with it and would only use it when push-came-to-shove. And at that moment, she needed it to get past those monsters and find her daughter.
The sound of a door crashing open alerted her that those things had broken in. She rushed to the stairs and watched as they hopped (they had no arms or legs but blood red eyes) towards her. She cocked the gun and began to shoot at them, nailing them perfectly. The green goo splattered over the furniture and walls, but that was none of her concern. As she made her way to the door, she felt her heart constrict in fear, for floating in front of her was a green version of Buttercup. She quickly returned to her senses and shot at the thing, but the bullet went through the monster, barely leaving a hole of entry or exit. She widened her eyes in fear and took several steps back to create some distance between them while the monster of Buttercup approached with her vicious red eyes. She tried to use her gun again, but found that it wouldn't work against the monster.
The monster reached out and grabbed the gun, bending it in half and watching it as it melted into the green goo that the monster was made of. All the goo in the house, for that matter, circled around it and was soaked into the monster. Gale was terribly afraid, not only for herself, but for Alice. The monster reached out and grabbed Gale by her throat. It was terribly strong and was able to lift her off the ground while constricting her air channels. Gale desperately fought for her life against the monster of Buttercup, but found herself dying at its hands. Before long, the doctor was no longer moving or breathing. Sensing its prey was dead, the monster began to consume the doctor into its body, before there was no longer the body of Dr. Gale Spacebyte.
She was murdered at the hands of a monster, and may have been the first death in the war against Fuse.
