Hi!
This is the start of my version of the parts of the PO5 series that Anthony Horowitz never told in detail. I'll try my best and I'm sorry if they're not the best.
Read and Review :)
Disclaimer: PO5 is not mine
The Accident, as it was called between the twins, was really an accident. They hadn't meant for it to happen. It just, well, happened.
The twins had been in trouble, again. Ed was really angry with them and both Scott and Jamie could tell he was just about not lashing out on them. They sat at the table, finishing dinner in silence.
Jamie glanced at Scott. What d'you think is going happen?
Scott shrugged. Dunno.
Ed watched them quietly, growing more annoyed by the second. These kids, the twins, they were so strange. He didn't know why he had agreed to take them in. Weirdos. He was sick of the crap he was getting from them, sick of the trouble, sick of them. Leanne had wanted kids, and he, being the stupid idiot he was, had agreed. Had he known he'd be dealing with this...
It was bad enough, without the fact that he had lost his job recently. Now he had no proper escape. All he had was alcohol.
The twins watched as Ed downed the last of the beer in his hand. He glared at them.
'What you want now?' he slurred.
Jamie shivered. When Ed got drunk, things always ended nastily. Scott usually ended up fighting with him, usually to protect Jamie. Jamie felt like a coward, not being able to defend himself.
'You know what, I'm sick of your crap,' he growled angrily. 'I dunno why the hell I bother with you. You're both just trouble in the making.'
Scott, don't say anything, Jamie thought. But he knew well Scott wouldn't listen.
'I won't have to deal with you much longer though,' he breathed. His clouded eyes bored into Scott's, seemingly ignoring Jamie. ''Cause, you see, we're moving. You'll be staying in Carson City, while your brother is gonna be dumped somewhere far away from here.'
'You can't do that,' Scott whispered.
'Oh really?' Ed laughed. 'Well, here's news for you, Scotty - I can. I've already talked to the Child and Family Services. No more Tyler twins.'
Jamie could feel the fear and anger radiating from his twin in waves.
'No way,' Scott said. 'that's never going to happen.'
'Well then, get ready for a shock, Scotty,' Ed rasped. 'I wonder, what's it's gonna be like without Jamie?' He leaned closer to Scott. Jamie winced. He could smell the alcohol on the man's breath from a distance. Ed smiled menacingly. 'What's it gonna be like, without your little shadow following you around?'
At that, Jamie knew well that Scott had snapped. He looked squarely into Ed's eyes, cold anger entering his face. 'Nobody's going to separate us. You can go hang yourself.'
Although they were just words, Jamie felt the power in them. He watched in horror as Ed's face went slack. He stood up, the bottle in his hand crashing to the floor, the green glass shattering. He slowly walked out of the room.
Jamie stared at Scott. Scott looked back at him.
'I- I,' Scott stuttered. His eyes were wide.
Jamie didn't utter a word. Not then, not later. Not even when Leanne came home and found Ed dangling by the rope hung on a metal bracket in the garage. They both stayed silent and let everyone believe Ed had committed suicide. But they knew better.
Now, years later, sitting on a bed backstage in Reno, that day scared Jamie just as much as it did before. He knew what they could do now. Scott had warned him not to use his powers outside of the shows. And Jamie obeyed. He knew that they weren't just words.
His words had the power to kill.
Wow. That was... different.
Hope you enjoyed,
Bye!
