Zuko's Suck Day
Zuko came stomping into the room his wife was in. "I am so angry, My Love. In the meeting they said that I need to be more like my father." Zuko kept his voice as quiet and cool as he possibly could. "Why? Why do they think I need to be more like him? That's the last thing I want! He's a monster, the whole world hated him... I hate him. I NEVER want to be like him!"
"Oh, my Zuzu, you are perfect just the way you are, I love you just the way you are... and I know you are nothing like him and I know you will never be like him." Katara told him, she was in her rocking chair, putting her newborn daughter Azaria to sleep after she filled her tiny tummy.
Katara was in the Fire Lady's lounge. Zuko had his own office, and the thrown room, and library he could spend the day but he prefered it in this tiny room. Being in here made him feel hjappier, it helped him feel better when he was upset. He remembered all the time he spent curled up on the couch with his mother as she read books to him.
He loved how his beautiful wife smiled, her ocean blue eyes were comforting to him. "I love you so much!" He told her, kneeling infront of her. He gazed down at the beautiful blue-eyed baby girl that they had created. He gently ran his fingers over her soft, pudgy, pink cheek then kissed it. She looked just like him but with her mother's crystal clear blue eyes. Ever sence the very first time he saw her he couldn't get her hauntingly blue eyes out of his head. He had travled the world over in search of the Avatar, their now friend Aang, and he had never seen any girl that stuck in his mind like she had when he first saw her, and her eyes.
The Zari finished filling her belly, but she didn't fall back to sleep like she normally did. Instead she staired into the gold eyes that were staring at her blue ones. "Would you like to hold her?" Katara asked.
"Oh... Uuuhhhh... She's so mall, I don't want to hurt her." He nervously said.
"You will be fine, I know you wouldn't hurt her." She told him as she fixed her dress and placed the tiny baby into his arms.
He sat down on the couch and smiled down at his daughter, he watched as she tried ti eat her tiny fist. His heart filled with so much joy as he hekld her. When Katara first told him she was pregnant he had nightmares almost every night, he dreamed that he would end up being as evil and crule to the baby as his father had to him. He was actually NOT happy about the pregnancy but never said anything of the sort to Katara, she was so happy when she found out she was pregnant, miserable but so happy.
Now, as he watched his daughter she was watching him, her little arm reached up to him. He put his finger next to her hand and she took hold. Something inside him changed, he was no longer afraid that he was going to be like his father, he KNEW he wouldn't, this beautiful little girl was everything to him now. He looked up and saw that his wife, the mother of this tiny beautiful baby, was smiling as she watched him. "I love you so much!" She told him. "You are nothing like your father, and I know in my heart that you never will be." She softly brushed her hand over his scar then sat down next to him and placed a soft kiss on it, she turned his face to hers and gave him a kiss that told him how much she loved him.
He decided that for the rest of the day he was going to stay in here with his wife and child. Making new memories that he would cherish everyday for the rest of his life.
