Imagine Brittana's first date at Breadstix, and they are both nervous. There is a comfortable silence, they both reach for the salt at the same time and their hands brush innocently. They both pull away, a blush appearing on both their faces. Brittany apologizes because she think's Santana is still worried about people seeing them and knowing they are on a date. Then Santana reaches her hand across the table, and takes Brittany's hand in her own, "why are you apologizing Britt? "She asks. Brittany looks down at their hands and then back to Santana, "I know this is a big step for you, I just want you to feel comfortable and I was afraid if I held your hand you would panic and leave"she replies. Santana's face turns soft and she smiles ever so lightly, "Of course I want to hold your hand Britt, you're my girlfriend and that is the one thing in my life I am proud of, having you as my girlfriend. I don't care who knows or sees, the only thing that matters to me is you and us". A huge grin appears on Brittany's face and Santana can't help but grin too, and what happens next is what shocks Brittany the most. Santana stands up and walks over to Brittany, taking both her hands in her own and leans down and kisses Brittany ever so softly. As their lips part Santana whispers against Brittany's lips "I love you", Brittany is so stunned that it takes her a couple of minutes to regain her composure and whisper back "I love you too, girlfriend".
