Caitlin wandered down the streat clutching a rolling pin in her right hand. After nearly escaping a lanky creature earlier that day when her apartment was attacked, she decided to find her cousin, Elizabeth. She could barely see through the foggy air of Silent Hill, but the howls of dogs could be heard crystal clear. She knew she had to find shelter somewhere so she headed toward Sniggens Hospital. From behind her she began to hear a high pitched shrill, so she broke into a run but she could barely see a thing in front of her.

Thud, "Ouch..." she had hit something heavy in front of her, but didn't have time to think about it because the shrieking creature had almost caught up to her! She whirled around and swung her rolling pin at the air in front of her, but it was to no avail for all of a sudden a large buzzing creature latched onto her back with its hairy twig-like legs! "Aieeeeeeeyaaaahhh!" Screaming she began thrashing out at it's legs desperately trying to free herself, and after a few minutes of flailing her limbs around she escaped with several cuts on her back and arms. The big bug still agitated her as she started to run but hit that heavy object again and this time inspected it. A car! She opened the door and slammed it behind her as the furious flying cockroach made repeated attempts at slamming into the window. With a sigh of relief she laid down and breathed heavily trying to calm herself.

After waiting for some time, the monster finally gave up and flew away looking for prey. Caitlin opened the car door and began walking toward the hospital again. What was going on? Why were all these monsters appearing all of a sudden? Was her family alright? So many questions filled her mind, but not one could be answered definately. All she needed to do right now was find shelter and the place she felt most secure at was the hospital. What was a better place to be than a medical facility? She had seen an article about it in the Silent Hill News Chronicle. She didn't really read it though. Just skimmed over it taking note of certain phrases such as, "Most well-maintained medical facility in the region." and "Not one patient had ever been turned away from the helping hands of the doctors." Sounded like a great place to be for a little while before continuing to travel on to find her cousin.

It seemed like hours went by until finally the fog began to clear a bit. Just enough for her to make out a large building. She searched for a sign and found one. It read, 'Sniggens Hospital' "Yes!" she exclaimed. But as she looked a bit closer, she was even more surprised at what she read, 'Sniggens Hospital: Mental Institute for the Manicly Disturbed'. She slowly made her way up the steps, and opened the large glass doors, stained with blood...
