J.K. Rowling owns the characters, and the outcome, I just fill in the blanks
"Professor, you wanted to see me?" James said as he stepped into Dumbledore's office. "Yes, James, yes. Please, sit down." James sat down, smiling, he loved visiting Dumbledore's office. "James, I'm afraid I have bad news, your parents concocted Dragon Pox a few weeks back and it appears they...James your parents are dead, I'm sorry." James didn't know what to do, his parents were d-dead? "Thank you for telling me Professor, may I be excused?" "Of course James, you can have tomorrow off from classes, also, if you would like." "That would be helpful, Professor, thank you," James left Dumbledore's office, not paying attention to where he was going. Finally James couldn't hold the tears back and he sunk down a wall, sobbing.
James didn't know how long he was there when someone sat down next to him, "James? What's wrong?" James lifted his head, tears still falling silently, "L-Lily? What are you d-doing he-here?" "James, you didn't come to the common room, I needed to see where the head boy went." "Lily my parents are d-dead..." James said as the sobs took over, again. "Oh James," Lily said and she took him into arms. "James, can you stand up?" He nodded, standing up and walking silently with Lily. Lily lead James into her secret place, a little alcove in the Forbidden Forest that Dumbledore had shown her once and place protected from the creatures within the Forest. She sat James down and they talked, and cried for hours. Something magical happened that night, because Lily no longer felt the hatred she had felt for James for so long. After a while, they tired themselves out, talking of their lives, and James eventually crying himself out. James Potter and Lily Evens slept in each other's arms for the first night of many.
James woke up to a wonderful smell, and feeling hungover. Then he remembered he was an orphan. James tried to sit up, but a red mess of curls stopped him. Lily looked up at him, and James braced himself, but he didn't see the hatred he normally saw in Lily's eyes. Suddenly Lily reached up to touch his face and James took a chance, and kissed Lily. Lily did not push away, but she welcomed to kiss. After a few minutes James pulled away, "Lily I don't get it, I thought you hated me..." Lily laughed, "I did, James, believe me, but then last night, seeing you like that I realized you were normal and had changed, plus I think your kinda hot." James' eyes, to his horror, filled up with tears. "James, what's wrong?" James laughed wiping tears from his eyes, "Your turning me into Moony," he muttered, "No, no Lily nothing's wrong! Its just that I've been pursuing you for six years and now you finally see me fit! And you agree I'm hot." Lily punched James in the arm playfully, "Now I have to ask you one question." "Yes James?" "Lily Evens, will you go on a date with me?" Lily didn't answer, she just kissed James again. When they pulled away James whispered, "I'll take that as a yes."
