A/N: This freaking couple I can't stand them they're soo perfect and I'm rambling and I love them so freaking much.

Rambled there. Sorry.

I don't own any of these characters. Except the random dude. But he's an asshole so they can have him.

I watched Captain America the other day, and I imagined this. Yes, I cried if you must know.

R&R!

At precisely 7:45 P.M. on Saturday, Agent Peggy Carter took up a brisk walking pace, headed for the Stork Club. She walked past alley's and roads, buildings and the homeless. She arrived at exactly 8:00 sharp, and walked inside. She looked around, checking for him.

Of course he wasn't there.

"I'm gonna to need a rain check on that dance."

"All right. A week, next Saturday, at the Stork Club."

"You got it."

"8:00 on the dot. Don't you dare be late. Understood?"

She took a table in the corner and camped out with a good view of the door. She watched people dance and eat. They all had partners.

But not her. Her partner was MIA.

"You know, I still don't know how to dance."

"I'll show you how. Just be there."

A gentleman with dark hair and dark eyes walked up to her at one point.

"Would you care to have this dance, my good lady?"

"No thank you," she replied.

"Are you sure? I promise not to step on your toes."

"We'll have the band play something slow. I'd hate to step on your-"

Peggy looked down at the table. She felt tears well in her eyes.

"I'm sure. No."

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, fine. Just leave." He nodded and walked back to his table. He handed his friend several dollars, and his friend grinned and gestured to Peggy.

Now that she was crying, she couldn't stop. Water flowed freely from her eyes, and she took a handkerchief from her pocket. She wiped at her eyes and rested her head on the table.

Glenn Miller began to play; a slow song.

"We'll have the band play something slow. I'd hate to step on your-"

Peggy choked back a sob. Instead, she sniffed, blowing her nose in her handkerchief. She put her hand in her pocket and rubbed small circles on his picture. She took it out of her pocket, and looked his face. She bit her lip, and stood up.

She left at precisely 9:45, and was back at base by 10:00.

The Colonel gave her a look that she thought might be pity. She ignored him, strode to her room, and looked at the calendar. She took an ink pen and crossed out Saturday.

She circled the next Saturday when she would do the exact same thing.
