The Legend of Zelda:

The continuing saga

[Authors note - This is my first FanFic so please do not complain. This carries on from the end of Zelda V (Zelda 64), If you don't know what happened at the end, this is what - Zelda is looking through the window of the castle (young Zelda) and Link enters the courtyard. Zelda turns and looks at Link. They stare at each other. 'The End' appears.]

Prolouge - The Spirit of a Kokiri

Link looked at Zelda, and Zelda at him. He looked into her eyes, only to see confusion and blankness. The moment seemed to last forever. He took a step forward and started to speak,

"Zelda, I..." He was stopped short.

"Link, you do not need to ask any questions. Ganondorf has been defeated for good and there is nothing that can set him free." Zelda spoke with a quiet, soft voice. Link looked down at his feet and mumbled,

"But Zelda, I..." Once again, Link was stopped. This time it was a different, more inquisitive voice.

"Who are you?" the voice spoke. Link turned around. A woman, about twenty-five years old, was standing at the entrance to the courtyard.

"I am..." Link was broken off once again, he shot an angry glance at Zelda, but Zelda ignored him and continued to speak

"He is Link, of the Kokiri" Zelda said with a firmer voice. Link started to speak but he was broken off again.

"Ah, Link. Zelda has spoken of you." She looked over at Zelda, but she had turned around to face the window in thought. "You must be wondering who I am. I am Josen, of the Sheikah."

Link was now wide eyed in shock. He had thought that Impa was the last of the Sheikah, so who was this person?

"Impa was not the last of the Sheikah. Years ago, she had a vision that all would not be well in the land of Hyrule. She knew that if something happened to her during this period, Zelda would be without protection." She looked over at Zelda again, who now had her head cocked to the side and was listening in. "So, that is where I come in. She raised me as a Sheikah when I was a child, so that I would then know the secrets of the Shiekah and could then look after Zelda when the day came."

Link didn't know how to carry on the conversation and turned to Zelda. As soon as she saw him turn, she looked away, as if she was scared of Link. Link started to leave, but as he did, a shadowy cloud enveloped the land of Hyrule. The cloud seemed to appear as if from nowhere, and moved very quickly, almost as if it was a sorcerer's spell.

There was an absence of light, and an absence of sound. Hyrule was still. Still with shock. Still with horror. The horses in the ranch started to run randomly and wildly, but the ranch girl, Malon, was too busy examining the black sky to even notice. Epona, her much loved and trusted steed, stood at her side, to give her comfort. The frogs in Zora river were croaking madly, and the cuccos of Kakiriko stood quiet in their pen.

Fear was in the air of Hyrule.
