A Warm Summer Night

It was a warm night in early summer. The sun was ready to go down for the night, and the sky was turning orange. Jack had asked Yusei to meet him in the park that night. He had wanted to talk to Yusei about something. So Yusei had walked over to the park and sat beneath a maple tree to wait for Jack. As he waited, Yusei watched a green leaf floating lazily to the ground. The sound of footsteps brought Yusei back to reality.

"Hey Jack." Said Yusei, standing up off of the ground. "You wanted to talk to me about something?"

"Yes. I wanted to speak to you about your . . . relationship . . . with Akiza." Replied Jack.

"Um . . . why?" asked Yusei, confused.

"Well I . . ." mumbled Jack. "I think that you should forget about Akiza."

"What?" Yusei gasped. "W-why? I really like her!"

"Because . . ." Jack murmured, grabbing Yusei by his shoulder and pulling him closer until their faces were only inches apart.

"Um . . . Jack?" Yusei murmured uncomfortably, "Why-"

Before Yusei could finish his question, Jack pulled Yusei into a kiss. After a while, they pulled apart, gasping.

"Wow." Yusei whispered. "I never would have guessed that you . . ."

"What? You don't want me?" asked Jack, worried.

"Did I say that?" whispered Yusei. "You fool."

Jack sighed. "Y-you won't tell Carly, though? Right? Not without me next to you, right?"

"Shut up and kiss me." Murmured Yusei, grabbing Jack and pulling him into another kiss. As they kissed, Yusei lost his balance and fell on top of Jack, still kissing him. Soon, they broke apart, gasping. Yusei turned to Jack. "I love you."

"I love you, too." Replied Jack.

As the two kissed, the sun went down, casting red, yellow and orange across the ground.

Akiza . . .Yusei thought. I'm sorry. But I know where my future lies now. With Jack. That is my destiny. I love you, Jack. Forever. That is my future . . .
