Shadows

Quickly hidden

Rarely shown

I am locked in shadow's embrace

They have quickly become my friend

It hurts to leave this place

Called my home

Tilted perspectives

Unanswered questions

Forbidden knowledge

The shadows whisper alluring secrets

I hear none yet I hear all

Lost in myself

These selfish desires cause nothing but pain

I remember the shining light

But shadows have consumed the images

The light was warm I think

Or deadly bright at most

The images are never clear

Always hiding behind a thick veil of shadows

I wish for light

But it's all consuming

I wish for darkness

But it's never-ending

The shadows require both

The all consuming and never-ending
