Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Sir Topham Hatt's Engines" from Mr Perkins Storytime, with added lines by tate310. I'm not sure if this story is from the Railway Series or not. Enjoy and comment.
One evening, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds to make a big announcement.
"The people of London have read about us in books." boomed Sir Topham Hatt.
"What books?" asked Gordon.
"The Railway Series books by the Rev W Audry. He has written many books about our railway for many years."
"Interesting." whispered Percy.
"However." continued Sir Topham Hatt, "even though they've read us in books, they don't think that we're real."
Everyone gasped.
"But, we are going to London to prove to them and the world, that we are real."
The engines whistled loudly.
"I want all of you to be really useful engines." finished Sir Topham Hatt as he climbed into his car, and drove away.
"Wow!" said Thomas. "We're going to London!"
"What's so important about London?" sputtered Gordon.
"It's really big." said James. "That's what my driver told me."
"And there's lots to see, just like in Sodor." added in Thomas.
The engines were excited.
Two days later, Sir Topham Hatt came to Tidmouth Sheds once again. With him, were four shiny gray engines, and a man wearing a suit and tie.
"Today is the big day." announced Sir Topham Hatt.
The engines whistled louder than ever before. In fact, they whistled for so long, that Sir Topham Hatt needed to use a foghorn to quiet the engines down.
"These engines have come to us from the London Midland Railway. They will be doing your jobs while we are in London."
"Who's the man?" asked Thomas.
"This is Benny Cercilf. He's going to be in charge while we are away. Now, since we leave this afternoon, I need one engine to show these four engines around Sodor."
"I'll do it!" exclaimed Thomas.
"That's a really useful engine. Now, be back here at five o'clock sharp, so that we can begin our long journey to London."
"Yes sir!" said Thomas as he puffed away.
Later that day, Thomas was at the shunting yards, showing the engines what to do.
But disaster soon struck. The points leading towards an abandoned line were on!
The driver applied the brakes, but it was too late! Thomas crashed right into a brick wall!
Luckily, no one was hurt, but Thomas's front was badly damaged.
Sir Topham Hatt arrived on board James. He wasn't cross, but he was disappointed.
"This is causing confusion and delay!" he said. "James, please take the engines around Sodor."
"Yes sir!" said James.
"What about me?" asked Thomas.
"Harvey will soon arrive to take you to the Works." explained Sir Topham Hatt. "If they can't fix you by five o'clock, then the trip will be canceled."
Thomas felt bad for himself.
It was nearing five o'clock. All the engines, both Steamies and Diesels, were at Knapford Station, as well as a crowd of people from all across Sodor
Sir Topham Hatt was looking at his watch.
"One more minute!" he shouted. "If he's not here within the minute, then the trip is canceled!"
The engines were worried.
Just then, everyone heard a wonderful noise!
"PEEP PEEP!"
It was Thomas! The people clapped and cheered, and clapped some more, and the engines tooted their whistles and horns.
Soon, all the engines assembled in line, in numerical order.
The conductor blew his whistle, and everyone cheered as the engines of Sodor set off towards London.
As they left, they tooted their whistles and horns, and everyone waved goodbye until every engines were out of sight.
Soon, the engines arrived in London. Thousands of people had gathered to see every engine, and television crews from around the world had come to film them.
The people told Sir Topham Hatt, that he had the best railway in the world, and all the engines agreed. They were pleased to be part of Sir Topham Hatt's railway.
