Summary: She could just be Lucy Preston – a sweet, fearless leader – and that alone made her a "plucky girl". One who believed that bravery wasn't just a mask – it took real guts.

Author's Note: I finally finished the first season of Timeless - making me all caught up on the drama! - and had to write this little piece to go with the S1 finale. And I needed my Wucy feels/fluff, so here you go!

Rittenhouse royalty? Lucy scoffs at the very term her mother had used. The brunette historian & professor definitely hadn't gotten to where she was today – now a fugitive & thief – with her so-called "royalty" status. "I worked hard," Lucy muttered to herself. "me. I didn't need their help getting here. I did it myself." And then Lucy sighs as she is hit with the realization that she was talking out loud to herself before a sharp gasp ripples out, echoing around the empty room. A gentle squeeze of her shoulder has Lucy turning toward the man in which the masculine hand belonged to.

"Penny for your thoughts or just musing out loud, ma'am?" Lucy had grown accustomed to hearing that gentleman-like title Wyatt gave her after they first met. Lucy didn't even bother correcting or scolding him; a imple, soft & genuine smile forming on her lips at the way he scoots closer to her. Offering her a shoulder to lean on without promting Lucy to even ask for it; just saying – without a word spoken aloud – he was here for her.

Lucy was grateful that – whenever getting to spend more time with the man that wraps one arm around her shoulders – she didn't have to be anyone but herself around him.

She could just be Lucy Preston – a sweet, fearless leader – and that alone made her a "plucky girl". One who believed that bravery wasn't just a mask – it took real guts.
