Chapter 1
Author's Note: Hey everyone! I have gotten a request, from mechagigan2004, who is an awesome fanfictioner, to do this. I love The Legend of Korra, and can't wait to make another chapter. Tell me what you all think of this, and thank you for reading!
Akane stared in awe, watching her best friend, whom she considered her "sister" show her skills in front of the Lotus group. Unlike Korra, Akane couldn't bend more than 1 element, and even at that she couldn't do that well. Her one element was waterbending, yet when she tried to concentrate, it didn't work out. Her mood deflated along with the puddle she had always been trying to bend.
When the Lotus group took her away to train, Akane was proud, but it felt like a huge piece of her had been ripped out.

Years later, Korra had grown into a fine lady, along with Akane, who had grown into a beautiful young lady, who always followed her parents rules. They both led their separate lives, which were different in every aspect. Unknown to Akane at the time, Korra was wanting to leave to go to the Republic City.
Akane lived in the igloo to the left of Korra's house, so when Korra came over to her parent's house, Akane saw everything. She knew from the look in Korra's eyes that she was determined to leave for Republic City. Akane had no idea what to do. She didn't have any clue what her body was doing in that split second because it seemed to just move on its own, writing a note to her parents, leading her out the door with a quickly packed suitcase and onto a cargo ship she thought she saw Korra get on.
Once the ship had reached Republic City, she stealthily got out, hearing all of the noise that Korra made when getting out. She saw Republic City, a surprised look in her eyes.
"Wow…. so I'm really here," she muttered to herself.
Her first reaction was to stand there and admire everything, but then she realized she had come to find Korra and keep her best friend safe from harm. She then tried looking for Korra, but she couldn't seem to find her, so she wandered around a little, with her luggage in tow.
