Sanosuke was certain that Kaname had no idea he was being followed. The young man didn't have Kunihiro's uncanny senses. It would be so easy to kill him... but Sanosuke was, with admitted difficulty, holding himself in check.

His plan was simply to follow his secondary target until an encounter with the primary target. Kaname seemed to always be meeting Kunihiro, so it shouldn't take long. Once the meeting took place, he would follow Kaname away from it, kill him, then double back with a souvenir to hopefully distract Kunihiro enough that Sanosuke could kill him as well.

He wasn't absolutely sure that the plan would work, but even a possibility was better than the results he'd been getting until now. And so he controlled his rage and followed as silently as he was capable of.

As the assassin had predicted, Kaname eventually came across Kunihiro as he sat in the middle of a field of flowers. This meant Sanosuke had to keep his distance to remain hidden, but that was just as well. He should be wary of getting close enough for Kunihiro to notice, anyway.

Unexpectedly, the targets began to get quite affectionate... More so than two males were usually expected to be. For a moment, Sanosuke was afraid his efforts to go undetected might have gone to waste, but after getting his surprise under control, they still seemed oblivious to his presence.

He was determined to keep watching until the two parted ways, but roaming hands started removing clothing. Any uncomfortable feelings which might have caused by that were quickly forgotten for others, as it became obvious, even from this distance, that Kunihiro's partner was a woman.

The assassin's mind raced, his need for stealth almost forgotten. If Kaname was a woman, then she couldn't really be Kaname. And if she wasn't Kaname, there was no reason for him to kill her. Perhaps Sanosuke could still make use of her to distract the mountain priest, but at the moment he felt that his astonishment put him at a disadvantage.

An attempt to catch Kunihiro by surprise now could easily end up backfiring, and Sanosuke wasn't willing to take that risk. Having no desire to see how far Kunihiro might go with the girl, the assassin silently left.

Satisfied that their lurking guest was gone, Kunihiro stroked his hand along Saori's exposed body, drawing sounds from her like a musician playing an instrument. A pleased smile spread over his face. "I could never grow tired of listening to your voice. Promise me no other man will ever hear you moan like that."

"I promise," she replied without hesitation.

He chuckled in amusement. She would never know how close she had been to breaking that promise before she even made it.
