Responding to Karry Master's first ever Karry challenge that was posted on the facebook page "Fanifction Millma Verse Page" (Check it out, they have teasers, polls, ect .-.)
Kara was annoyed, she had lost Mon-el and now was experiencing a wedding with two people who were perfect for eachother.
She was happy for her friend but couldn't but feel a little jealous of Iris, she lost Barry last year so she and Iris bonded over that. But now she had him back while Kara was left with a man who has a wife.
Thoughts spread through her head like wildfire, making her frown and ignore the ladies talking around her. It was a day before the wedding of the 'worlds most perfect couple' so she was with the girls at the spa.
A whimper seemed to stop her in her tracks, she used her x-ray vision and saw that Barry was pacing around the next room- obviously panicked. Kara excused herself from the room, and went to the next one where Barry was. She walked up to him and gripped his hands, trying to calm him.
"Hey, what'a wrong Barry?" She asked the tall man who shifted his position, and took a breath.
"I'm just, not thinking straght." He forced, trying to hold himself together. His feelings for Iris had dissapated, coming down to a point of 'just friends'.
He had what he wanted last year, but his time in the speedforce seemed to make his true self come out. Iris was now an echo on the stage that sat neatly in his super-human mind.
"Why? You get to marry the love of your life, that would make anyone more than overjoyed." Kara spoke softly, feeling a little nice that they might have a chance but also felt bad for the man.
"I guess it's just, not what I want anymore. I have doubts about marrying Iris, it doesn't make me whole. And telling her would break her, Kara." Barry whispered, a tear streaming down his face as he seemed to not have any sense of reality at the moment. He did like Iris but his sights were set for another girl..
"I'm sorry, don't count on me to be good at helping in these situations." She simply replied, but knew he need something.
Kara wiped the tear away and just hugged Barry, letting him lean on her for support emotionally. "What do I do? I mean, how can you deal with so much pressure? Cause, I don't think I can."
Kara pushed him back a little to see the hurt look on his face, he may have not wanted to be with Iris; but he still wanted her to be happy.
"Then tell her, yes it may break her, yes it may make her hate you, but it's the right thing to do. There are just situations that you can't simply run from." Barry thought about this for a second before nodding at his friend and slowly making his way out.
Wedding Day...
Barry's mind was racing, a lot faster than it usually did, he kept trying to think of the right words. He could sit Iris down, and tell her his reasoning with a calm voice... but that would come out as fake emotions to Iris.
That was when a thought danced across the stage in his mind making him brighten up. Barry just had to be him... he felt stupid for not realizing it earlier. Fake acts are stupid and mean, but being himself would make her understand. hopefully.
Iris now walked in, her sweatshirt hanging over her jeans and t-shirt making her look as cool as always. Barry may have had feelings for The Girl Of Steel, but couldn't have not noticed of how pretty Iris was.
"Hey handsome, what'd you call mr here for?" She asked, sitting in a nearby arm-chair and smiling at Barry who felt guilty.
"Umm... I uh..." Barry was dumbstuck, not being able to find the right words. He had known that he shouls be himself, but wasn't prepared to turn down his fiancé.
"You what?" Iris had worry in her tone, walked over to Barry and wrapping an arm around him. "Barry, you can tell me anything.
"Iris, last year... I had what I wanted, you. I was happy but we never got any time because of my mistakes, flashpoint, alchemy, ect. But when Savitar came, I became HUGELY overprotective- which blinded me from what I really felt. When the speedforce took me in, it fixed me, made me who I truly am. It needed me to have time to manifest my feelings, along with my powers. And there I learned the truth about what I felt for you..." Barry gulped, wondering how those words would affect the women.
"You didn't love me in a way that was different." Iris realized, looking over to the speedster who nodded with sorry written all over his face. Iris was now quiet, unreadable emotions buried and what was left was sadness and something else.
Then an explosion seemed to distraught Iris while slightly stunning Barry, he sped into the main wedding room where all the heros were in battle. Kara was flying around with a Krpytonian Nazi on her tail. Oliver was fighting with another archerer while everyone else was battling normal/advanced Nazis.
He decided to help out Kara who was having trouble with the Kryptionian. He dodged and weaved through all the heros and Nazis before tackling the women. Barry was immediantly thrown back and kicked down, where he lay in pain.
Kara used freeze breath on the Nazi before hitting her back, she then flew up and back down where her fist collided with the Kryptonian's abdomen causing her to scream in pain.
Oliver shot an arrow which the other Vigilante dodged with ease, Oliver decided to run at him, trading blows with the Vigilante.
A Kryptonian was knocked up to the 2nd floor and knocked out, which made the archerer scream in anger. He was about to shoot an arrow at Kara but was stabbed through the chest by Oliver who smirked.
Kara flinched, not liking the aspect of killing. She flew down to pick up Barry who seemed to unfazed to continue,
"Stop trying to be brave, Scarlet Speedster." She said with a smile, making the man slightly laugh. At that moment, Iris came running in.
"Oh my god, Bar-" She was stopped as three gunshots peirced her chest, shock seemed to erode her face but the didn't stop her from looking at Barry who just stared. Everything seemed to slow down for Barry, Iris falling to the floor, the Nazi getting flamed by firestorm, and screams of anger.
Tears filled his eyes as Barry phased out of Kara's grasp and ran to Iris who fell to the ground. Barry slid to her and held her up, rage filling him over and over again.
First his mom, then his dad, and now his Fiancé. Barry stood they, ignoring the hands that touched his shoulder to calm him. He had failed Iris... He had really failed the third person in his life.
"..In hopes that one day, we will meet again." The man finished, it was Iris' funeral and all the heros attended it. Not wanting her to go without them by her side.
Kara looked down sadly, she may have been jealous of Iris but she didn't want her to die. It was unfair for the girl, but now that she was gone... what would happen next.
She looked over to Barry who wasn't with the group, he was by himself at a nearby picnic table. She walked up to him and placed her hand on his back, momentarily suprising the man.
"I'm sorry, if I hadn't told you to tell her then she wouldn't ha-"
"No, Kara you can't put this on yourself. This wasn't anybody's fault." Barry told the Kryptonian who nodded, not being a stubborn person.
"If you want to come stay on my earth for a few days, then your welcome to. I already know that Joe is gonna give you hell."
"No, but thanks. I'm just wondering on how I could've stopped this!" Barry mumbled angrily.
"No one could've even guessed that this was gonna happen, so don't beat yourself up for it; you said it yourself, this is nobody's fault."
Barry stood there for a few moments before taking a breath and speaking "Kara, a year and a half ago I got stuck on another earth where I saved someone who I would later find out to be Supergirl. I was in love from the moment I met her, and sad when I had to leave. Since then, the feelings were buried since I stuck to Iris, but I got stuck in the speed force and it brought out my true feelings... and those feeling were for you."
Kara seemed stunned and slightly red but then came back to reality. "Well, I met the man of my dreams a year ago when Mon-el came to view. We were both aliens, had lost our world, and supers. When he went away, I felt a big bruden off my shoulders... but also knew what I felt. I had feelings... for you, Barry. I've buried them deep over these past few months since you were with Iris but when I heard that you wanted to call it off I sorta went crazy."
Both had finally felt relieved, they had this done and over with. They had dreamed of this moment but not in these kind of circumstances.
"I don't know if you want, and I want time to deal with this, but maybe sometime in the near future... We could try this out?" Barry asked. Kara paused for a moment before smiling.
"Yeah I would like that." The two clenched eachothers hands and started walking, and kept walking... Hoping for a good start to their future...
