Abby never thought she would fall for Conner, especially since she liked Stephen. However, lately, she had problems being next to the geek without getting a weird flutter in her stomach.
Once he started living with her, she started to learn all of his quirky little habits. Like the fact that he could never watch the telly without a drink. Or the fact that he used both butter and jam on his toast. She learned that when he fell asleep his feet would twitch ever so slightly. She knew that he also read 30 minutes a day and that he loved ham and cheese toasties for lunch.
Conner sat down next to her on the couch, bringing her out of her thoughts. He brushed the strap of her tank top back on her shoulder and asked,
"I'm about to make some tea. Want some?"
"Yeah, thanks."
He nodded and got up to but the kettle on the stove then went back and sat down.
"So what were you thinking about? You jumped a bit when I sat down."
"Nothing important," she assured him.
"I'd like to know anyway."
"I was just thinking about what we would see next. How dangerous it'll be. Since Stephen's been gone I just worry a lot about it," she said tears threatening to fall at the mention of their fallen teammate.
"You really liked him, didn't you?"
"Yeah, you know we actually sort of agreed to go out on a date, but he forgot after he woke in the hospital. After he mentioned he had a girlfriend, I didn't bring it back up."
"Hey Abby, I know I'm no Stephen, but do you think you could settle for me?" he asked her just as the tea kettle started to whistle.
"It wouldn't be settling Conner," she smiled.
He smiled back and wrapped an arm around her, pulling her to him and kissing the toop of her head.
"Tea's ready," she told him.
"It can wait."
"Good," she smirked, tilting her head up so she could kiss him. Conner pulled her closer until she was sitting on his lap and kissed her back, moving his lips softly yet still passionately with hers.
"Hey Conner," she said pulling away.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"Thanks for not moving on to some other girl while I was being a stubborn prick," she told him with a small chuckle.
He smiled and kissed her again.

Okay so if it sucks, it's the first Primeval fanfic I've done. Tell me what you think!
