This probably won't make much sense unless you've read TFoM. But even if not, it's a random drabble thing I did for my friend Claire's birthday (she's in love with my writing, I swear, it's crazy). So tell me what you think. And if it interests you, feel free to read TFoM and tell me what you think about that. I hope you enjoy it.
All of these characters are mine. Thanks myah.
A year after Aiden's death, it rained in San Francisco. Rain hit the windows of Nayan's apartment. The abundance of alcohol in Nayan's system made each pitter-patter feel like it was drumming against his skull, rather than the glass directly opposite. He curled up on his couch, pulling his comforter over his body and shoving his head under a pillow. The sound of the rain was somewhat ebbed, but it was there nonetheless.
Nayan found his mind once again drifting back to the night that Aiden had died. He had shown up at Nayan's door sometime around eleven, his breathing already heavy as though he had run a long ways. Nayan had stepped back to let Aiden in. Before either could say anything, Aiden had launched himself at Nayan, pressing his lips hungrily against the lips of the boy he loved. Nayan had felt his back against his front door, smelled the minty scent of Aiden's breath on his cheek, could almost sense Aiden's hands on either side of Nayan's head….
Nayan shook his head, then moaned and held his face in his hands, wallowing in the pain of his hangover. Aiden had come there that night before going off to find the others. He was supposed to be in the forest at midnight to fight. Nayan wasn't allowed to know what it was about, but Aiden had promised to tell him when he got back.
"It's no big deal," he said. "It's nothing. I'll be back before you know it."
After an hour of intense heat and passion, Aiden pulled away and looked up at the clock on Nayan's bedside table. The clock read 12:16 AM.
"Shit," Aiden breathed. He looked down at Nayan, whose body was quite comfortably underneath him. The blankets, which had been lying neat and orderly across Nayan's mattress, now lay strewn all over the floor. He leaned down and kissed the corner of Nayan's mouth.
"Go to sleep," he whispered, climbing off of Nayan. "I'll be back in the morning." Nayan sat up and hugged Aiden from behind.
"Be safe," Nayan murmured. Aiden smiled and winked before leaving the apartment.
That was the last time that Nayan saw Aiden, alive or dead. He wasn't allowed to see the body. No one was allowed to breathe a word to him either because he wasn't one of them.
Nayan groaned again and sat up. With the blankets still around him, he staggered down the hall to his room. In his closet, he found the jacket Aiden had left behind when he had come over last. It was grey with red stripes on the sleeves. He flopped down on his bed and held it to his face, inhaling the scent and trying not to cry. Outside, the rain continued to fall.
Well? Tell meh whats yah thinks! ^_^
