Vibrant shapes that seemed to be the size of the sky exploded in the clouds, crimson and gold discoloring the inky blackness. It was a wondrous sight to many Amestrian citizens, and their excitement escalated with every bloom of color that appeared. Yells and boisterous noise traveled across the capital.

The reign of Furhrer King Bradley was finally over. The military-based empire had toppled under its vast corruption and greed. Freedom and rights were renewed, hope filled the people, and enthusiastic celebrations swept the streets.

Fireworks were launched from the roof of Central Headquarters. The soldiers' carefree laughter and endless jokes filled in the gaps between booms, and the smoke was hazy; gunpowder scented the air.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Ed asked, interrupting the comfortable silence. He looked up at Roy and smiled, squeezing his hand.

"Not as beautiful as you," he teased. Ed rolled his eyes and slapped his arm playfully. "But yes, it is. And we have made it so by ridding our country of that damn tyrant. Both of us, together, of course."

"Yeah, you were lucky not to have your ass handed to you." Ed snorted.

"Thanks for ruining the moment." Roy sighed theatrically, but grinned and placed a gentle kiss on the golden-haired alchemist's temple. "Welcome to the new Amestris."
