A Dream and A Promise
His eyes were deceiving him, weren't they? It was Lisanna. The person he loved most, the person who understood more than others were capable of, his future wife. She was alive.
"Lisanna..."
Natsu couldn't help it. The tears were already falling before he even knew it. He missed her. So much.
Somehow, deep down, he knew she wasn't dead. She couldn't be. Lisanna promised so many things and the Lisanna he knew would fulfill those vows no matter the cost.
He wanted to approach her, to get close to her in every way possible but she was moving away.
"No, wait! Lisanna!" he yelled after her. Why was she leaving? After he'd found her, he never want to let go, ever.
But she was unreachable. And he cried even more. He never hurt like this before. It was torment.
"Lisanna!"
Natsu woke up with a start. His palms were sweaty and cold. Coldness enveloped his naked torso but he didn't mind. It was only a bad dream, he reminded himself as he tried to even his breath.
His eyes adjusted to his surroundings. He was still in his room, the furniture were arranged neatly. A table beside him held a frame, in it was her and him with Happy. Their faces were full of joy and laughter was stilled in the portrait.
The door opened and a curvy silhouette stood, "Natsu?" Her voice was sweet and soothing. And the scent that followed was familiar.
"Having nightmares again?" she asked.
He nodded at her.
She turned on the light and her smile made him calm, the only peace he could grasp.
When she was in front of him, she held his face and kissed him fully. The exchange was full of love, pure and vivid.
"I'm here. Always..." she said as she brought him closer.
He gathered her in his arms, afraid to let go of his salvation. "I know"
They parted after a few moments and he held her hands. On her fourth finger was a gold ring, a symbol of their eternal bond. Until death do they part. He kissed the jewelry and smoothed her white hair.
"I love you, Mrs. Lisanna Dragneel..." he said lovingly as he looked deep into her blue orbs.
"I love you more, Natsu..." she replied with a smile.
When they were lying on the bed, he hugged her and nuzzled into her hair, "Thank you for keeping your promise"
She laughed slightly, "You didn't keep yours. It was your turn to change his diapers"
"Well, you exhausted me," he chuckled behind her.
"Then, it's abstinence for you," she stated firmly but there was a trace of laughter in her tone.
He quickly turned her over and kissed her in places where he could reach. Lisanna giggled with delight, "Alright! Last round, okay?"
Natsu grumbled, "Is that a promise?"
"No"
A/N: At first I wanted it to be Lucy but then, it'd be sad and I'm in no mood for sadness right now so here is Lisanna to bring joy. Yay!
