Today is Chrome's birthday and I wanted to make her a birthday fic even if she isn't my favorite character in the world. Anyways OWTS
Walking down the vacant streets of Namimori was Chrome Dokuro, the current Vongola guardian of the Mist.
It was a chilly December night but that didn't stop her from taking time away from her partners, Ken and Chikusa. They were being meaner than usual-well Ken was, Chikusa was just being quiet and distant as usual.
Even though today was her birthday she still got treated as if she didn't belong. She hadn't told boss of her day of birth because she didn't want people fussing over and going to extremes for one simple day. Only Ken and Chikusa knew since they forced it out of her confusingly enough. Why would they be so persistent on the topic if they were only going to ignore and snap at her when the day came.
A few minutes more of walking aimlessly and she decided to head back to Koukyo Middle. Since it was getting late and she didn't wish to get lost. If Ken and Chikusa had to go out and find her they would surely be more annoyed than they already seemed to be.
Once she was back at Koukyo land she was met with darkness, which she was used to, and strangely enough silence. The silence was foreign and wasn't at all anticipated. Why did she not hear the voices of a complaining Ken and a irritated Chikusa?
"Ken-kun, Chikusa-kun?" She called as loud as she would allow herself.
No response.
Cautiously and hesitantly she headed upstairs to Mukuro's room where the majority of the former Koukyo land members hung out.
Once she stepped inside she was blinded by an unexpected light.
"Surprise, byon!" Ken yelled jumping out from behind the couch.
"Surprise" Chikusa monotoned not sounding nearly as enthusiastic as Ken.
Once Chrome adjusted to the light she surveyed the room. Ken and Chikusa stood in the middle of the room with party hats adorning their heads. They were standing side by side behind a table that held a ziploc bag filled with candy, a paper plate filled with chips, 3 chocolate bars and one cupcake with a candle placed inside.
"Happy birthday,byon" Ken smiled showcasing his sharp insicors.
"Happy birthday," Chikusa echoed lacking the excitment Ken had but meaning what he said.
Chrome was shocked into silence as she stared back and forth from the two boys standing before her.
"You don't like it?" Ken asked slightly crestfallen but he quickly covered at up with a look of faux-irritation,"Because this cost a lot ya know!"
Chrome lost control of her body and before she knew it she was hugging the two boys, tears of happiness clouding her vision. She felt wanted and accepted by the two's act of kindness.
"Why ya cryin' for?" Ken asked surprised by the tears.
"There tears of happiness," She whispered as she let go and cleaned her face.
Motioning to the table to get their attention Chikusa lit the cupcake candle and waited for Chrome to blow it out.
Smiling she did just that.
"Ya gonna eat that?" Ken asked eyeing the cupcake with greed in his eyes.
"Ken, stop being greedy," Chikusa scolded in his monotone voice.
"I'm not, I just wanna know if she wants the cupcake geez, byon" Ken protested.
Chrome smiled to herself. This really was a happy birthday to her.
I hope you peoples liked that. I worked on the first half of it in my IPS class because our teacher is gone and we still don't have a new one. I hope this was good and I got the characters in character.
