Round 4

House: Gryffindor

Position: Year 1

Category: Drabble

Prompt: Burgundy (Susan Bones)

Words: 206

Susan Bones looked at her reflection in the mirror. She was an attractive girl with red hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a burgundy sweater. The sweater was knitted by her Aunt Amelia as a gift for her. Susan grew sad at the thought of her recently deceased Aunt Amelia. Aunt Amelia was her favorite aunt and her role-model. She admired how her aunt had worked her way up in the ministry through her own hard work and talent, her aunt's sense of justice and fair play and how her aunt died as a hero standing up for what was right.

She looked back at her burgundy sweater. Burgundy was Aunt Amelia's favorite color and she often wore elegant burgundy robes. Since knitting was Amelia's favorite past-time, she had taken delight in knitting her own curtains, pillow cases, sweaters and even robes in her favorite color, burgundy. Susan loved watching and even joining her aunt in knitting and had developed a soft spot for her aunt's favorite color as a result. Now more than ever the color burgundy held meaning for her, giving her the sense that a part of her aunt was still with her whenever she wore it.
