Author's Note: This was a poem I wrote a while back about how I felt during the Lava Caves sequence, so it may be rough. But I'll let you decide on it. It is also my first time using this site so I'm new and expect to make mistakes, either way hope you enjoy it.

"Betrayal of Friends"
Inspired by events in Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and The Lost Ocean
We were the best of friends
It was heaven
When I first laid eyes
On you
We were meant to be
Together forever
But it wasn't destined to happen
With our travels with friends
You were always there
Helping us, cheering us on
Never giving up
Even when times were grim
But all along
We were merely cards in his hands
To be played when needed
I refused to believe it
He of all people betrayed us
I tried countless times
To convince you to return to us
To me
I was thrown away
As a broken machine
No longer being able to serve its purpose
I prayed it was just a nightmare
However it was a terrible reality
Even though it was the truth
I prayed he'd realize his mistake
He didn't just betrayed us
He deceived himself
May he be able to overcome his own demons
And someday return to us
I wish he could
