Someone was shaking her shoulders.
Her head was pounding and everything inside and outside of her person hurt. Groggily, she tried to open her eyes but couldn't, screwing them shut tighter as her brain finally registered the pain on the back of her head that meant she had been hit with a heavy object before she blacked out. Slowly, her senses came back to her and it was then that she realized that whoever was shaking her had a huge supply of chakra. It was foreign, it didn't even feel like any chakra she had sensed before. Wary of the strange possible enemy-nin, she tried to think back to what happened before blacking out.
She remembered being in the war against Kaguya, the rabbit goddess. She remembered being chakra-depleted and feeling helpless as she watched Naruto and Sasuke get brushed away as if they were mere flies. She remembered a bright light then—nothing.
Suddenly, her senses sharpened, hearing something and feeling heat close to her bicep. Then, detecting the faint smell of burning sulfur in the air, she immediately snapped back to life and rushed to stand—only to bump foreheads with whoever was trying to burn her awake.
Blinking the tears away, she came face to face with an old man. Hair all whitened due to age, there was an undeniable sharpness in his eyes and a look that belonged to those who has seen and been through so much, too much. But he looked almost glad as he stopped rubbing his forehead and looked at her. She tried to move her lips to speak, wincing at how dry her throat was and how chapped her lips felt. She must've been unconscious for days.
He beat her to it. "Are you alright?" He sounded worried.
But she didn't understand what he said.
