Chapter 1

It was a cloudy day. Just looking up at the sky would make anyone depressed, knowing the sun was trapped behind the thick clouds. Amy Rose, a cute pink hedgehog, looked out her window in her apartment and sighed. She was one of the many who despised these types of days.

"This is awful," Amy said to herself, "today was the day I planned Sonic's surprise date. I was going to go up to him and tell him how we're going on an immediate and surprise date. He'd be so happy! I know it!"

Just as she said that, it began to rain, and Amy began to get angry. She turned away from the window and grabbed her purse quickly. She looked around the apartment and made sure that everything was in order.

"Okay. Everything's alright. I can get going now." She walked outside her apartment door and locked the door. As she took her hand away from the door knob with the key, and she looked down at the floor. Would Sonic want to see her today? Or would he be annoyed with her as usual? She clenched her fists in determination. She wanted to win Sonic's love. He was very shy, and she knew their relatonship wouldn't progress if she didn't make some moves. She lifted her head up and started to walk down the hall.

MEANWHILE...

Shadow sat on the couch looking around Rouge's apartment. She was in the other room making them tea. He was a bit nervous, because she said something about a date with each other. She was a very beautiful, vivascious, and plain out sexy girl with a great attitude, but he didn't know how to handle situations with her on a date. He didn't want to seem stupid in front of her and do something she doesn't like. Rouge then walked in with a tray with a tea pot and two tea cups atop it, and she set it down on the table.

"Here you go, Shadow," Rouge said with a smile, "some tea for both of us. If you don't like it, I understand." She laughed and poured some tea into a cup for Shadow, and she handed the cup to him.

"Th-Thanks," Shadow replied as he took the cup into two hands since he didn't know how to hold it, "so...uhh...about this date." He looked down at the little bit if steam coming out of the tea.

Rouge looked up from her tea and switched her glance to Shadow. She didn't think he'd bring it up.

"Oh, well, I wanted to go out with you sometime. I mean...I'm free today. Maybe we can do that today." She smiled flirtatiously at him, and she could tell that Shadow blushed. He had a nervous and embarassed face on.

"I...I would like that," Shadow said without looking at Rouge, too embarassed to look at her beautiful face, "where do you want to go to? It's your choice." He smiled uneasily.

Rouge smiled happily that he wanted to go on a date. Although, she knew he'd be too nervous to do many things. So, she came up with the idea of a double date. But...with which couple? Chrissy and Espio were too busy with their missions with Vector and Charmy. And Sandy and Knuckles were too young to understand "intimacy" and all that nice stuff. Rouge did come up with another couple, but she wasn't sure if it would work out...Sonic and Amy. Sonic avoided the fact that Amy was in the same room as him at times and Amy was absolutely head-over-heels in love with Sonic. Two opposites mostly. But maybe this could help them get closer.

"How about we go on a double date," Rouge began, "with Sonic and Amy?"
